The Novella I wrote

Post by Tay » Fri Sep 09, 2005 11:58 am

Before the '03 Burn I wrote and gifted a novella set at Burning Man, during a fictional year. I've posted it to a Blogger site and it can be read there, or printed, loved or hated.

A word of warning: it contains references to illegal drug use and public sex so it's not suitable for BM LLC's own Tales from the Playa. In other words - it contains references to things that actually happen.

here's the link.

be kind.

Tay,

I must admit that I really got pulled into this story. This was my second burn this year (skipped last year) and I really felt some of the things that you wrote fictionally (is that a word?) about. Things like really wanting to go talk to that one special "girl' that caught my eye.

You writting captured me enough that I really felt like I was right there with you. Maybe because I still miss the playa from this year.

Anyway.................I really enjoyed your Novella.

Crazy

That story is creepy....as in I can relate to too much of it and there's some major deja vu going on. Some of the situations had me feeling like it was me there instead of you. It's a great story.

Part 9

Beautifullly written. Love every bit. The scene Zelda pulsing the penis is great! Just magical and true to the spirit of playa.

A few desktop wall papers gift, perhaps will bring back memories on Playa.

Thanks!

And those are great pictures. I had a hard time taking pictures this year. I'm not sure why, I just didn't want to take myself out of the moment to photograph the moment.

It's funny and it's cool. I have a hit counter on the blog site that allows me to see how many people have visited but also where they've linked from and roughly where they are. (roughly as in "California" or "New Zealand.")

BUT what I find is funny is that every now and again I'll get a link from google or some other search engine from somebody searching for the words "Pubic Hair." (For those of you who don't know there's a chapter titled, "The pubic hair grooming digression" in the story.)

Now I'm as perverted as the next guy - though some might say more - but I don't think I've ever googled something as specific as "pubic hair." Then again, I did write a chapter about it.

Hmmm. Maybe it's time to shut up.

Thanks, Tom. I grabbed the open playa shot and it replaced my previous desktop nicely. My icons float on it like playa art.

Apparently there is some stuff going on in the world that I am just not a part of - or at least perhaps I wasn't paying attention that closely to when I read the Kama Sutra (of course my version was illustrated with stick figures - perhaps that was the problem.)

As I mentioned in a previous posting my hit counter can tell me certain things - like how a visitor linked to my site.

Recently I was thumbing through a few of the hits, curious as to how people were arriving at my little Burning Man story and I came across someone who had linked there from a search they'd typed into MSN.

The search terms was: "massaging girl's pee hole."

(What really flipped me out was that the search somehow pointed to my site. I guess all those words appear somewhere on the same page. Though when I went to MSN and tried the search myself, it didn't come up.)

Odd.

Then again, perhaps I'm being too Victorian about this in my astonishment. Perhaps this is nothing more than the sincere attempt of some earnest individual to bring relief to a significant other suffering from a tense and/ or overly fatigued pee hole. I know after a long of urination, I could certainly benefit from a little "massaging."

Have you read this story?
"Everything is more wonderful when you do it with a car, don't you think?"
-girl by the fire, watching a tree moved by car bumper in the bonfire

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

I thought this story might go with the photograph thread.
