BLACK ROCK CITY 2007 MAP
I was curious when the map and names of the streets will be posted? Nothing like getting an early start. Thanks BMOrg.

He can't kill it, only an admin can--I think.
Typically this information is available late spring, early summer. With the early choice of themes maybe this will come out early too, but that's just speculation.
Oh, and we are not the ORG, just a bulliten board on their server.

I am truly sorry. I was kinda lazy this morning and did a copy and paste from the BM site as I was looking over the map and old street names. I copied it just like it was off the site, but changed the 2006 to 2007. I didn't even realize the bold caps. I tried to edit, but it will not let me. This was a serious question, but I completely understand if it needs to be deleted.
Helitack has pointed out in a very positive way that I am false advertising, and I guess if he had his way I would be ban from BRC. So I am glad it is NOT up to him.
That is called a subject line, which I believe has the question in hand. This being the subject to my question. You sir took it one way, which is understandable, unlike some of your posts. You can let this thread go by the way side.

I proposed a set of street names in the Green Man Theme thread. Did a bit more thinking and revised a list of possible streets:
Esplanade
Azalea
Biodiesel
Cedar
Dahlia
Ethanol
Fern
Gully
Horticulture
Center Camp surrounded by the Wreath (instead of the Grand Circle)
Afterthought: Outpost Rose and Outpost Lotus for the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock plazas?

I think thats a bit heavy handed.. a smack with a trout will suffice for a warning.

I like alot of the names diane came up with. I think one fuel would be good along with a couple trees and plants. It would be great to have the big plants back. Does anyone know if those 2 are coming back for 07? Maybe a street could be named after one and have it placed accordingly as part of that one street. Eileithyia would be my contribution for a street name. I know the theme is just the MAN (supposedly) but we could refer to the WOMAN for one street since they are tied together historically. Verdant would be cool too.. it has a nice ring to it.
In 2005, there were a few startled bugs.
I never heard of anything else.

A tree-o-centric list....
Ash(!), Alder
Beech, Birch, Bouganvillea, Boxelder, Buckeye
Cherry, Camellia, Catalpa, Cedar, Chestnut, Cypress, Crabapple
Dawn Redwood, Dogwood
Elm, Eucalyptus
Filbert, Fir
Gingko
Holly, Hawthorn, Hickory
(If necessary) Ironwood
TREES by Joyce Kilmer
I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

I am really afraid that the outer center camp road ("Feedback Loop" in 05 and "Wheel of Fortune" in 06) will be "Circle of Life"
It's too obvious, but would also be too reminiscent of Disney animated musicals.
My nerdier side is kinda hoping the Avenues have another non alphabetical system like the planets a few years ago.
Domain
Kingdom
Phylum
Class
Order
Family
Genus
Species
If needed: Subspecies
If it is names of plants, let's hope its one's rarely found on the grids of america's towns and cities (no Cherry, Elm, etc.).
Algae (or Agave)
Bamboo (or Baobab)
Cactus (or Catnip)
Dandelion
Edelweiss
Flytrap (or Fennel)
Guava
Hemlock
Iris
Kudzu for the outer center camp road (or Olive Wreath)
From listing of "alternate" species from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service
Anise (herb that flavors Ouzo and other booze)
Bok Choy
Cilantro (or Carob)
Dill
Elderberry
Fig
Gourd or Ginseng
Hops or Hemp (yes its in there)
and Onion for the loop road
Or for local flavor, here's a list, drawn specifically from the list of endangered plant species in Nevada (generally the common name of the genus)
http://heritage.nv.gov/atlas/atlas.html
Aster
Bitterroot (or Blazingstar, Beardtngue, birdsbeak, biscuitroot, bladderpod)
Cactus (or Clover, Cholla, crossidium)
Draba (or Daisy)
Eggvetch
Fleabane
Globe Mallow (or Gilia Goldenbush, Grimmia, Gumplant, Greasebush)
Hulsea
Ivesia (or Indigobush)
with Catseye or Wavewing as the outer center camp road.

Herbal list:
Asofoetida
Bilberry
Coriander
Damiana
Echinacea
Fenugeek
Hops
Indigo
I still think the circling road should be called The Wreath and the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock plazas should be named Rose and Lotus
Tree List (without going into the standards)
Acer (Maple trees, for those who don't know)
Bodhi
Cacao
Deodar
Eleagnus
Argh, I can't find any F or G tree names that haven't been done to death!!
Hornbeam
Ironwood
For the Foodies:
Allspice
Basil
Cardamom
Dill
Endive
Filé
Ginger (or Garlic)
Horseradish
arrgh...Okay, Indian Jujube. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue but it's better than Iceberg Lettuce
