Tri-Struts for Lights, Speakers, and Other

Post by EricMagic » Mon Nov 20, 2006 12:04 pm

I am not sure what officially they are called so here is a description. When looking straight down on one end they look like a triangle, but they are also long and relatively lightweight. It is like three pipes/conduit connected together with mini-cross members between each pipe, so there is some space between each pipe/conduit. These are the specialized struts used in events for concerts, theatres, and so on to hold lights, speakers, gizmos, and sometimes are used as structures.

They come in different sizes, shapes, and with different connectors.

Anyone have these for donations to a Theme Camp for 2007? Anyone know the best sources to get them?

Any help will be appreciated.

Basicly I bet your thinking about ROHN tower or some other brand, basicly the same thing.

Here's a quick description of it:

I know they make angles and such so you can create boxes and other structures. Check around with local amateur radio operators for used stuff. As for new I think its about 100 bucks per 10 foot section.

There are quite a few audio/dj/stage production places that also have it available. http://www.pssl.com/bitemdetail.tpl~waG ... atGroup%5D has some but they are expensive.

Also do a search for "lighting truss"

Best of luck to ya!

You know.....might as well start now

We are looking for 30 feet of ROHN 25 or 45 for a shelter project for the 2008 burn.

Hell if you are in the Pacific North West or Northern Cali we'll even come remove a standing tower for ya :)
