A "burner-like event"? From the outside, based on your weblink and description, let me compare to the "10 Principles":

Radical Inclusion - "... private resort facilities not being shared with other guests during our weekend" does not sound inclusive at all.
Gifting - "Meals and spa treatments are not included. Drink specials to be announced" makes it sound like a commercial event.
Decommodification - see above.
Radical Self-reliance - "... plush accomodations, indoor swimming in a heated pool ..." is the exact opposite.
Radical Self-expression - "... parties, dancing and various other activities designed to build community comradery and to celebrate the coming of spring ..." makes it sound rather conventional rather than radical.
Communal Effort - "The event is not limited to hotel guests only but you must be staying at an associated hotel and booked through us in order to recieve free admission" leaves no room for "creative cooperation and collaboration."
Civic Responsibility - How are you "communicat[ing] civic responsibilities to participants"?
Leaving No Trace - In the hotel rooms, maybe?
Participation - "We expect to have beach front fire spinning and an open bar arrival cocktail party" makes it sound like it would be difficult to "achieve being through doing."
Immediacy - "... must book both nights ..." does not sound very impulsive and immediate.

It looks like an advertisement more than anything.

I get thanks and love from a huge amount of burners from all over everywhere...and 'burnier than thou' from you. It's a party, not a burn!

It's a party, a fundraiser, there is a ticket price, anyone who can purchase a ticket can come. There will be day passes sold at some point in the future.

Gifting is something we do for each other as we want without expectation of a return or barter.

Is camping the only way to be radically self reliant?

It's a party, theme camps, etc. You could easily criticize a decompression the same way as this.

Communal effort in the same way as we do decompressions.

Please, this is obvious in how we behave at events.

We, staff and volunteers, will do our best to leave the grounds as we found them.

You are 'nit picking' here.

Look, when you buy a ticket for burning man it is for the whole week. If you buy a ticket for this event it is for 2 days. I'm not stopping anyone from only coming on one of those days.

This is not a burn. It's a party...a very costly party and we just hope to have some fun and help make it possible to contribute more to next years Burning Man in BRC. Is that so awful? If it bothers you, don't come.

If you had prefaced your post with the fundraising details, I wouldn't have considered touching it quite so quickly. I'm waiting for the other mods to have a look at the original post and get their input as to whether it is a pure commercial post, or whether it has merit a a burner related fundraiser.

You need to say so explicitly, up front. Commerce and decisions about what's just a big expensive party attended by burners and what is raising funds directly for a theme camp or art installation or gifting on playa is very difficult. I am not a mind reader. The no commerce is for everyone, spammers and burners alike. The poster should is responsible for making the distinction between a pure commercial event and a direct fundraiser.

I will post your complete original post (sans graphics) in case studies and get some feedback from the community. Don't worry, I didn't edit it at all, just copy and paste.

I do apologize for being hasty in pulling it, and for the lack of communication prior, but hey, I usually don't get a response. The last one was a hearty Fuck You. Not that I'm sorry I pulled it AS IT STOOD.
As I have said, spam makes me cranky. What looks like advertising from a burner makes me double cranky.

The Burning Beach Ball went on sale on the 5th of December. Within the first few days we managed to fill the majority of rooms. Amazing flurry of sales considering the time of year and a surprising amount from points quite far from New York. A pretty strong west coast showing. Reservations have slowed a bit which is no doubt due to the holidays.

We are gonna have one great party and will 'own' Montauk for the weekend. The Montauk community is excited about the event and the business it brings (naturally).

Actually it went pretty well. The hotel loved us. The locals loved us. Lots of people came. People came from far and wide. We burned the 9ft alien. We danced and frolliced.

Next year will be in slightly warmer weather and should be much better.
