New Messages glitch

Been getting alerts that I have a private message waiting; then when I go to my Inbox it says there are no messages.

PM or email me with the email address on the account you're getting messages at and I'll check into it for you. email is eplaya at burningman etc.

anyone else having the problem?

Did you get the PM I sent you yesterday? If not than that was from a PM I tried to send ya. I have had the same thing happen to me once or twice in the past.

It's not there. I got the private message alert in my e-mail's inbox, clicked the link, came here, the pop-up box came up, clicked on that, and there's nothing in the site Inbox. But the links at the top of this page says I have 1 new message.

Nope. Clicked it, Inbox came up, said I have no new messages.

Maybe someones out to get me and doesnt want me sending PMs to just anyone. I was curious about the cold casting of metals. I had asked if you knew of any good books where I can teach myself this process. Even any websites you know of would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know any books or websites, so I'm probably not the one to ask. I'm mostly going on what I learnt during my special effects apprenticeship. He taught me how to make hydrocal molds and various casting materials and techniques. Haven't done it in years and pretty much all I know is it's 75% metal or stone powder, 25% cured resin, maybe some microbeads for filler/extender.

just wondering, i got two notices of PMs this morning, but no new messages in my inbox. did anyone else experience the same? i have also gotten quite a few PM bounces to the admin address. let me know.

If the pm is from a spammer and deleted, you get that effect.
But PMs are not reliable.
I would urge anyone to enable email and use that as much as possible.
I have had no problem due to email being enabled.
I have had PMs vanish out of storage.

Most recent pm from spammer did not vanish when he was blocked.
Don't know why.

I've gotten a couple new message notices too and there hasn't been any. Then I just got a message from someone with no posts yet saying they were new here. Could that be a spammer?

If they wrote about something specific, maybe not.
Did they include a commercial link?
Sometimes there is just one in the profile, but it's usually obvious.
