I have to agree with Helitack. Receiving protection from others is not something that I ever count on.

Protect me the people that write hate propaganda such as this:
Leviticus 18:22 -- "Do not lie with a male as one lies with a woman. It is an abomination."
Yeah, and then they tell you that you must kill those that act like this!
That's Hate language
No god lies here, but they are in the Helenic Religion: It's OK to be Gay or not!
I guess that's what the difference is from a barbaric society that didn't contribute to the state of Humanity and one that has given it it's highest form!
Have a Happy Saturnalia everyone!

I hope everyone has had a prosperous harvest. The 25th of December is as good a time as any for a harvest celebration,,, or a mid-winter celebration,,,depending on your latitude.
Religion as big business has overlaid their festivals on the pagan ones to expunge any memory of why we really celebrate.
The birth of some man 2 mellinium ago is of no consequence compared to the important things like the changing of the seasons.
I hear that Australia has had a wheat crop failure and is going to cut off India. That's certainly more important than agonising over buying a real/fake tree.
Dan

20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Can anyone tell me at what date was this written into judaic law?
I believe it was written at the time when many anti-hellenistic laws were written around 330bc to 200 bc or so. A time when all educated jews spoke greek not hebrew. For Hebrew to survive, antil-greek laws were created. This, I believe, was one of them.
It is not the word of a God, but a political hate group.

Great revelations on Christianity last week on the History Chan
The Dark Ages! Here Charlemagne's Christians performed genocide on German pagans continuing the religious plague started by the roman christians.
The Barbarians! The Christian Arians perform genocide upon the Roman Christians!
The Dark Ages!
Can't you feel the LOVE!
Somehow for all that has change so much remains the same

Dear Fire Elf:
Please follow the guidelines below. you have been spamming not contributing!
AIIZ
ePlaya Community Guidelines
These guidelines were developed based on community input and best practices from existing bbs'. It is the goal of these guidelines to help foster a strong, supportive community.
Philosophy
The ePlaya exists to support the Burning Man community.
In order to do so, it must support the interests of ongoing ePlaya community members who may have a variety of interest that they bring to this forum that may be only peripheral to the actual Burning Man event. This also includes those Burning Man community members who only briefly interact online, and those who are joining the community and wish to gain an understanding of it.
Everyone is capable of contributing positively to the community, and a variety of viewpoints are both expected and encouraged.
Expected Behavior
Before posting messages, take some time to read the forums and get a sense of how people interact. Coming on like a bull in a china shop will not win friends - respecting the ongoing flow of conversation will.
There are different areas for different purposes within the ePlaya. Please respect their intended use, and keep on topic, especially when creating new threads, e.g., do not post political discussions in the Newbie area, etc.
"Cross-posting" - the act of posting the same message across multiple threads - is unwelcome.
Personal attacks are unwelcome.
Illegal activities are unwelcome.
The ePlaya is a no-commerce zone. Recommending a good deal you found is acceptable, gifting is always encouraged. Advertising items or services for sale or trade will not be tolerated.
Contributions should be intelligible and add value to the discussion. Before jumping into a discussion, be sure to read the messages posted and reply in context.
Your words are a reflection on you. They are how you will be judged by others. Be careful in how you present yourself. Once you have committed your words, you will have to stand by them and coexist in the community, as they cannot be edited or deleted.
We encourage you to represent yourself as you are known in everyday life and on the playa. Being yourself on the ePlaya goes a long way to building lasting, trusting relationships. Multiple identities are discouraged.
Remember that there is a thinking, feeling human behind every username. Always.
Consequences
It is the goal of the administrators to exercise the powers set forth here in a fair and even-handed manner. In most situations, efforts to mediate the issues surrounding complaints will be attempted before action is taken against violators.
Upon investigation of a complaint, or personal observation of violation of the expected behaviors, administrators may take any of the following actions:
Topics or threads that are inappropriate for a certain discussion area may be moved or redirected to a more appropriate folder.
Personal attacks via username, topic or thread may result in the immediate deactivation of the account. User will be notified via email of the action.
Cross-posting may result in freezing repeated threads with a message notifying users to continue in one appropriate thread. The original cross-posting user will be notified of the action via email and reminded of the community guidelines against cross-posting.
Topics or threads intended for commercial gain may result in immediate deletion of same.
Multiple violations will result in the revocation of thread creation and/or posting privileges.
Continued or extreme violations will result in account deactivation.
Privacy rights
Your words are your own. However, this is a public forum, and anyone - law enforcement, the media, your mother - may read them and act on the information they contain.
Information collected during registration, but not authorized for dissemination, will only be used by the administrators of the ePlaya if necessary to administer the board, and will not be used for any other purposes by Black Rock City, LLC or disseminated to any other organizations.
Burning Man will not honor requests to delete Content nor deactivate user accounts solely upon complaint by other ePlaya users. In response to requests for enforcement action by users, the admins will investigate such accusations and determine whether the ePlaya Terms of Service and Guidelines have been violated before taking action.

At first I thought that it might be a reference to getting some nookie in the the back seat, but in order for that to apply to "drivers" the sin would have to occur while driving. I wonder what that could be...?Bay Bridge Sue wrote:Actually, other than the "occasion of sin" part of #5 (the judgmental aspect of this whole "sin" thing, especially with regards to the Catholic Church, makes me shudder) it's not too bad, actually. its one of those open-end meanings that can really screw up catholics because it prays on their paranoia: ie glutony, pride, sex or breaking civil laws.Nick Collide wrote:At first I thought that it might be a reference to getting some nookie in the the back seat, but in order for that to apply to "drivers" the sin would have to occur while driving. This is my favorite "commandment" because it captures the the essence of the American automotive advertising world in one elegantly simple sentence.Apollonaris Zeus wrote: 5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.
edit: On second thought I guess it is a worldwide issue. Perhaps that is why the hybrids haven't captured the public imagination, and where the designers need to step it up: if you can't project your power and domination through your wimpy car, it better have a damned big back seat!
