CO -

I agree with you there also, Athletes get tested all the time, we have a 100% 0 tolerance D&A policy at our department also. still I know tokers on the department that smoke weekly, and have never been popped once.

Funny fucking story, 2 detectives at my old department go out fishing. One lights up a joint he confiscated, and the other just keeps driving. When they get back they both get the notice for a random test. They both piss, the one smoking passes, and the other one gets popped. They wrote it off to him being undercover and having to smoke it to maintain cover previously, so he is still employed.

CO I feel for you and your kids. all I was pointig out was the story didnt seem to add up.

I wish you luck, and hope all works out for you. Breaking up a family should only be done if it is absolutely in the best interest of the children, and should never be done for any other reason.

My neighbor had his kids removed and an operation performed on one of them because he was a Christian Scientist. The court ruled that it was in their best interest.... Seems very fusked up to me.

What really kills me is the sentencing guidlines or lack thereof. I testified at a case where a man walked across the street and shot his neighbor in the head - killing him; just so he could steal some cash. This fellow got 15 years, out in 9.

Another guy I saw arrested strong armed a liquor store. (basically he ran in - shoved the cashier out of the way and hauled ass with 400 or so dollars) THis poor fuck got 50 years????? wheres the fucking balance in that?

CO - you are right it is a fucked up system, but IMHO is better than 99% of the other countries out there. Everytime I go to some shithole like Egypt, Iraq, Turkey, Indonesia, Sudan I thank god for being born an American. That may sound fucked up, but I am thankful that I can call my president an asshole, vote donald duck in as a write in on any election, carry a gun, drink booze, go to BM, look at porn, My daughters can go to school, my wife doesnt have to wear a burka, I can write what I want, worship a clam - mount rushmore - satan - or god as I know him / her / it.

Good luck, and if your unorganized house was the reason DHS came in then fuck them. You had better have had hand grenades, razor sharp axes hanging from strings, bear traps, and cobra snakes loose in your home to justify that, and shame on the State of Oregon.

If it was something else then shame on you.

Later all

A messy enough home is cause enough in Utah. I had a relative keep her kids only by scrounging up a lawyer and taking parenting classes and bending over backwards under intense scrutiny for years. She was subject to depression and the house was way out of hand, but no one was doing drugs, the kids were well cared for and excelling in private school plus active at church. Heck, no one even smoked or drank! Messy homes can ring the wrong bells, depends on who's in charge at DCFS in your county or state. Utah really sucks in that respect, and if you're not LDS, you're screwed.

I don't know the details about CO and OR, but I wish them luck and hope they can get their situation resolved.

On the television show Cops there was a bit in which some parents got a warning from the police that, if they didn't get their home cleaned, they were going to lose their kids.

I have an aunt who is a "packrat", and, unfortunately, due to my troubles with depression have some of the same tendancies myself, and being a "packrat" can get you into a lot of trouble, even without kids.

So, yes, I can see kids being taken away due to a messy home. Drugs don't have to be involved. What will get kids taken away is, out of necessity, a value judgement..., and the value of the judgement will always be questioned.

Fuck. I just got fired. It seems that there is no excuse for being late, even by a few minutes, at the Department of Transportation. It didn't matter that I probably have sleep apnea, and other medical reasons behind it, nor that I have finally got a program in place which might deal with it. It doesn't even matter that I am listed as handicapped, due to my troubles with depression.

As far as I can tell, time is one of the gods we here in the United States of America are supposed to worship-- part of the Holy Trinity. Time is Money, and Money is Power; therefore, we are supposed to worship all three. Blessed are the wealthy for they have money, and therefore power, and are immune to time for others will wait for them. They can also afford the best in healthcare, so the effects of time are held at bay longer.

Fuck, I don't know what I am supposed to do now. I'm suppossed to have follow up appointments with my doctor, but how am I suppossed to keep them without a job?!? Fuck, what I am suppossed to do since I can't seem to keep a job? How am I supposed to find a job when they will want to know what happened to my last one?

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck gfuck.

Maybe there's something you can do as a self-employed contractor? That's how I deal with my fucking ADD.

BAS, that blows. I'm sorry to hear it. Sleep apnea & depression are valid reasons, you could have the fixins of a discrimination suit on your hands.

Maybe you can Dilbert them and come back as a contractor. There was a lot of that going on at Oregon DOT a few years back...

Best of luck.

Coming back as a contractor would be fun, but I doubt it is doable here in Wisconsin. The job had a fucking year long probabtionary period, during which I could be terminated for any or no reason, which was almost over, which I suspect might have been why they didn't want to cut me any slack.

Some sort of work from home thing might be what I should be doing, but I don't know what it is I could do (and am not all that good at accounting).

Thanks for the support.

Fuck dude. What are your talents or other personal assets? How long can you float without work? Doyou like kids? Can you tutor? Do have any tools? you could be a handy man. Just show up on time, sober and speaking English and that's most of the job.

Well, that's something I am going to have to explore with the Employee Assistance Program, I guess. I don't know as I can go very long without work-- that's actually something I should be working on now, probably.

Fuck, I think I will leave that for tomorrow.

What MD said.

I think of depression as being like a thick patch of brambles. There's no sense in looking at the weeds--you just have to beat your way through them. And there's no sense in being bummed about that, either.

Exercise and writing have seen me through the worst patches. Do both even when it seems pointless. Hell, it might even be pointless, but nobody can say you're not trying.

BAS, my deepest sympathies. Losing a job is always a huge fucking blow to the self-esteem, when coupled with depression... OUCH! I have to agree with SED and mdmf, the longer you're in it...

Well, I just emailed the news to my parents. I know it will upset my mom, making her worry about me more (and she is in her 80s), and upset and frustrate my dad (in his 70s). Fuck.

Well, I went over the list of times I was tardy, by their record:

I was late by on Tuesday, late twice in December, twice in November, once in October, once in September, twice in April, once in March, and six times in February. February I had just started the job, and for at least part of it had been commuting from Madison to Waukesha-- an hour's trip, and included one time I had to travel from Madison to Racine for training and had a flat tire.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

Well, they spent ten weeks training me (room and meals paid for) up in the middle of nowhere to work as a "Transportation Customer Representative 2-- Field"-- which means I was one of the people who work behind the counter at the Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles checking to see that a person's documents are legal, that they have taken (and passed) the right tests, filled out the correct forms, and stuff like that. IIRC, the training cost the State upwards of $10,000 (USA). It also involved field training.

Before that I was working at a "temporary" job (which lasted about three years) bagging at a grocery store. Before that I worked as a hospital supply clerk-- which is pretty much what it sounds like: stocking units, stocking clinics, keeping track of where stuff is stored, etc.

Before that, it was a lot of temporary and/or seasonal jobs.

I got a funny fucking one for you -Not a life altering one but one of those Fuck Me's.

So I spent the last month finishing up a proposal - 2300 pages in fact. Most of it is representations, accreditations blah blah. Shit I already had in the computer as .PDF and just assemble after the actual site specific bid.

So I assemble this huge fucking doc. Load the printer with 15000 - Yes kids thats 15 thousand sheets of paper. I make sure its got lots of ink, toner, and whatever else iis in those color fucking coded jugs.

Hit print (6 copies - as the US government needs thant many for some fucking reason) and leave my office at 5pm yesterday. I go in today to seperate them into six piles of four different sections and was going to take them to kinkos for binding.

Only problem was I missed that little FUCKING BOX that says COLLATE.

so I have 6 copies of every page (double sided) in a row, all the way through.

Do I A. Sort them by hand? or B start over?

FUCK SORTING them. My 3 daughters are now dumping them in the shredder, and I am now watching this fucker spit out paper.

I will be back at midnight so I can take these fuckers to Kinkos and ship them in the morning.

FUCK - Best part is, this isnt my job. That person is in Hawaii. I said "yeah go. Ill print it for you and drop it iff."

Well, I finally got myself to go to Job Service. I should go back there tomorrow, since the (fucking) printer at the terminal I was at was running out of toner. At least I go myself to do SOMETHING! I've still got a bunch of stuff on my list I need to get to, though.

Thanks.

B.

P.S.: Checking the mail, I found the test results of the promotional exam I took-- the test for being one of the people who goes out on rides with kids trying for their license. I wonder if I still qualify for that job, even though I got terminated from the lower ranking one...? :?
