question about scholarship/low income tickets

Post by skeetsh00ter » Wed Jan 10, 2007 1:29 pm

ok, i know there is a thread already on this, but i just cant find it. I have a question about the scholarship/low cost tix. I (think) i read somewhere that if you are not awarded one of the low cost tickets that they will give you a chance to buy at the lowest level (even though they will be sold out everywhere). does anyone know if this is true?

thanks everyone!

I've never heard this one before. There's a certain amount of first tier tickets, what, 10,000? And they sell out the first day; I can't imagine the headaches behind holding back lower price tix for low income/scholarshippers who didn't qualify.

Short answer: I don't know, but I wouldn't bet a penny on it.

maybe if you write something real good, and send in your app, they will give you a low cost ticket no prob. but if they dont they send the money back, and you can save a bit longer and buy a higherpriced ticket ( its not really that much more if you think about it. good luck on the ticket

This year all the low-cost tickets have been reserved for the Black Shirt Squad of spinning fire spinners that cavort at the base of the man before it's torched in the Groupthink Exercise in Mass Conformity (DOWN IN FRONT!!!). They do it for us; you know, to give the best darn entertainment, mass community building spec-tackle that $$$ can buy.

I for one am happy to pay more for my desert entertainment. I mean really, the wise and benevolent people who are the brains, the power, and the juice behind my desert entertainment are so much wiser, hipper, richer and more creative than me.

You keep telling yourself that!

Why would you interpret my post in the light most negative to you?

Monstrous Cat Shadow, meet BlowSleeves, Master of Snark. He's really a doll underneath it all. And Blyslv - you stood me up last year, so I'm giving you plenty of advance notice this time. Will be in Santa Fe around August 10 - coffee?

Actually spreading misinformation is not the same as "snark" but really, that's OK!

Stood you up? Huh?

i'd be happy to meet for coffee, although in the interests of chakra rebalancing I now drink only Jasmine Pearl Green Tea. well I also drink coffee, but only when I want to get utterly JACKED!!!

We are getting WAY off topic here, but here's what I posted on the "help Blyslv attend the burn" thread:

Tell me where to mail the dollar.

Hey, I'll make it even easier - I'll deliver the dollar in person. Friday, July 7, New Mexico Printmakers Gallery (new location on Johnson Street, next to Georgia O'Keefe Museum), 3 p.m. mas o menos. Be there.
I really was there. Anyway, maybe I ought to give that box of Jasmine Pearl Green Tea a second look - my chakras are totally twisted around my lower gut. Many reincarnations to go . . . and no need to get you more jacked than necessary.

Wasn't Blyslv cited last year for insufficient chakra?

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

Probably not true

So I am pretty sure that if you apply for a low income or scholarship ticket, that does not mean that you get cheap ticket if you get denied for the low income one. Think about it. If everyone who didn't cut it for a low income ticket then got a ticket at the cheap price, EVERYONE would then apply for a low income ticket in order to get the cheap ones.
