Those mac ads are one of my pet peeves. This spoofs a little long but worth it.

My personal most annoying Mac trait: if you tell it to "delete" a file, what it actually does is create a hidden folder labeled "trash" and move the files there. If you're trying to, say free up space on a USB flash drive, this entirely defeats the purpose.

Like I have said many times,

a computer is a computer is a computer.

Theyâ€™re all the same. They all crash for one reason or another, they all have a funky program or 2.

I cant stand the apple commercials. They are false advertising.

They are funny though.

In 1+ years of owning a Mac, the only problem I've had was when I tried to run the Google Earth program. Got rid of it, no problems since.

Course, the most reliable computer I ever owned was my Commodore 64. Never crashed, never locked up, used it for 15 years. Wish I had never got rid of it...

Can you actually do anything an a C64? My Ti scientific clculator from university is pretty reliable, but limited as well.

Cool note CO - the original tracking computers from the Gemini, and apollo missions still work flawlessly when powered up after 40 years.

Programs that come out that are new are made for pc first. Then they are compiled for mac later.

Lets be realistic here now.

The mac and other pc's are by far more powerful these days.

Plus there really are a ton of cool programs out today for all platforms.

there is no way you can have me go back to a commodor 64 or a quantum 1400 running cp/m, nor a DEC tops 10 pdp 1170 with a Lear Siegler monitor to run it on.

I would take a pentium or osx any day no matter what.

Well shit, I wouldn't go back to using a C64 these days; don't lets be silly. Of course modern computers are more powerful. Moores Law in action. But it was reliable.

I'm not debating newness of programs or the computing power, just stating my experiences re: reliability. The amount of time I've spent cursing at PCs & Microsloth products is probably a year or two of my life. And I don't even have to work with them for a living.

Secure empty trash over writes the data. I have had Macs since 91, nary a burp. Maybe it is the difference in people who like to use computers that actually work, all the time, rather than people who like computers to use them, as punching bags, and lighten their wallets with all the anti-everything software. And a lousy interface. But then, some people enjoy that. If only my agency would go Mac, we could lose 3/4 of the IT boys and girls, save a bunch o money. Until then, I will go on happily using my non crashing lil ol PB, and just laff at the sheep, doing all the things they do on their doze 'tops and boxes, but better.
