so, sitting here in ALASAKA,Nevada. Pipes froze, water main is off, no running water. Plumbers all over town are booked solid, wont get one till tomorrow. Hope the other pipes dont freeze and break!

So bout to pour myself a nice cocktail and go sit by the fireplace.

and prepare to be introduced to "24" Jewel and Titwi's fav. show???
wish me luck 2 hours of a show ive never seen.

So, I am always interested in learning something new. When I lived in the great white NW (i.e. Yakima WA) the thing I learned was too live a slow drip in the main lines, the ones that would freeze. Moving water is harder to freeze than static water?

Might be bogus, but might be true.

OK, back to PBR! This is a bar after all!

Heya J***.... Yea that was a good way to start the season! WooHoo 2 more hours tomorrow!

On the pipe note, yea we tried letting the water drip, and ended up with an upside-down icesicle in the sink, before they froze (When they built that side of the house, I don't think they insulated it....Duhhh). So yea, it works, but not when the temp stays soooo cold for sooooo long.

Oh well, should be out today to fix it....Mmmm lets see..... Espresso and Baileys??????????

Our poor house has no exterior insulation, so yeah, the pipes get cold. Cinderblock construction with brick veneer and real plaster interior walls, brrr. We do the drip thing, but it sucks as our water pressure is at least twice normal. There's little heat in the basement, we've been keeping a fire in the downstairs hearth, but it makes me nervous. Frozen pipes or chimney fire? The water main comes in behind the fireplace, so that's a bonus I suppose. We open the cabinets where the pipes run in the laundry room and kitchen, that helps distribute heat to them. My kitchen cupboards are so chilly I run hot water into my coffee mugs to warm them before I pour in the hot coffee.

got the call from plumber this AM says hopefully they can get here by noonish, says all of reno is broken.
And well after taking daughtr's friend to her house last night I see this is a true statement...there is water gushing through almost all gutter's in town, water pipes are breaking at litespeed quikness. Man this is a week I wish I was a plumber! Could be making a fortune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well plumber arrived and because the addition was made after the original house, they cant get to the pipes. Soooooooooo, I told them to cap it off, so we could at least have running water. So were down to one bathroom now.

It was good, and funny after watching sunday night, I had fire practice last night so I came home right at the point that the one kid was gonna soot the other kid...and jack to the rescue!that it left off with!

anyway...I dunno, probly not my cup o tea, but Ill watch it just to snuggle with Titwi!

Sorry gang I couldnt bartend another second, i had worked all day then back to bartend the grand opening...so my bartending skills were dead....

...funny at BM, you get this wonderful staying power that allows you to be able to do a 15 hour bartending shift and still feel invigorated after, if anything ready to do another, well preferably on the other side othe the bar!!!!!!!!!!!
