Perfect chance for filmmakers / videographers
I am dropping this note for a buddy - his project for 2007 is thus:
with BMorg permission I plan on placing a 80 x 60 drive in theatre type of screen and utilize one of the familys digital projectors to screen videos.
my extended family recently shut down a drive in due to economics (after upgrading mind you) so they definately have the hardware available. I can play, dvd's, vhs, and any digital format that works on a pc.
I plan on viewing films everynight from sources abroad. Any interest?
a websie is being put together and should be up after the newyear.

!!!
Great project idea! Since theres a roller rink and more than enough dance clubs a drive-in would be excellent. Hopefully the films would include classics like Brazil or Rocky Horror. I take it you're planning on FM transmission and the folks would use their portables with headphones? With all the other noise about I'd rather chill with headphones on.

Well, if I can make it in 2007, I would be interested in viewing videos/films, and might be able to bring some videos and/or DVDs (what sort of stuff are you intested in?) Since I am second to the bottom of the senority list at work, my being able to go is pretty iffy, though.

I got "Shaun of the Dead" on DVD, a random selection of "Young Indiana Jones" episodes on tape, and some other stuff on one or the other media I am not awake enough to post at this time. (I think I still have some stuff I was sent as advertising, too, if anyone wants to watch THAT!)

Please don't show the D&D movie! I have been working very hard at NOT seeing it all these years! (I'd much rather watch the DVD my doctor's office gave me for choosing a primary care physician again! In fact, I'll bring it!)NO YOU MAY NOT! Now go learn how to play D&D.

all the movies listed would probably be illegal to screen at bm. dont forget that the mpaa is watching you watch movies at bm and watching you bm and making movies of it.
plus if you are going to play anything you should totaly play "they live"

If its a "legal" copy of the movie or show and there is no admission being charged for viewing it should be fine.
Of course, I am not a attorney, but I did drive by a Holiday Inn Express 2 days ago.
Eerie, Indiana would be appropriate.
The Addams Family shows too.
Psychomania is a great drive-in movie.
The living dead on bikes.

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

When you purchase or rent a movie it usualy includes a personal license for private use. Most movies have this clearly stated on an FBI warning before the video with something like “For Home Use Onlyâ€CapSmashy wrote:Only if the screenings were being used for commercial rebroadcast.

I think what you suggest sounds incredibly hot. I flashed on Lara Croft's pointy tits on that big screen. The graphics from a video game might hold the attention of the stoned masses longer then any movie. Or sit front and center watching "need for speed"..zooooom.. wow..... surround sound, not head phones but massive fucking speakers.Kagenin wrote:Can I hook my Wii up to it ?

Rabid Grannies? Two old ladies are cursed during their birthday dinner and run amok in their mansion killing their family members one by one. I love crappy B-horror-movies and watched a lot in my teen years, so I was surprised when I rented this one and it was actually well-made and acted.
You call it malt liquor, I call it breakfast.
But, I digress, mdmf007 - if this is gonna go throug I would really, really like to see the original Hills screened out there. One of the few ideas I would actually go out of my way and plan to be at. Have a VHS copy I would gladly bring down - let me know.

Great Idea! Would love to be able to project Liquid Light & psychedelic video up there! Sounds like a fine space for a stage too!

mural project
I thought it would be fun to do a collaborative mural project, which I would document it's progress in digital photography. Do you think we could show the photos a la slideshow style (in fast motion) on the screen? If so, how do I go about getting the images to you? Thanks!
