some one pointed out that U.S. troops out number the bad guys 25 to 1.. Adding 30000 more troops would make it 25.5 to 1..

There are no "bad guys" over there, let alone "good guys". It's just a bunch of guys who are willing to kill and die to help their faction get control.

I don't even think Bush wants more troops - he's just heading off talk of troop cuts. He wants 30,000 more, everyone else wants 30,000 less. They'll compromise and keep doing exactly what they've been doing for as long as they can.

Problem with the Good guys / bad guys in Iraq is that they all look the same.

I have pictures of a 12 year old boy strapped with explosives (didnt detonate - poor wiring job) that has been basically brainwashed into thinkint that the US represents satan and that we are there to rape, pillage, plunder and destroy their way of life.

30000 more troops means that the ones there may be able to work 6 days a week instead of 7. Means we can search and get the hell out of that hole that much quicker.

ive been there three times in the last four years and can say I have seen a difference from 2002 to 2006.

We may have gone for the wrong reasons, but IMHO dignity, and the outing of the former regime is still worth it. Lets wrap this up, and get the hell out of there - but not before iIraq is ready to be self supporting, and governing.

later all.

#1: There are bad guys there. They're the Saddam loyalists. You know...the type that forgive his brother for killing their family members, neighbours and friends by throwing them into a meat grinder. Probably to feed Udai's pet lions.

#2: Iraq will never get on its feet as long as we're there, because it's easier to let the Americans fight their battles for them. Remember, the main reason we "won" Desert Storm was because 90% of the Iraqi Army surrendered three days in. They don't know how to fight.

#3: Anyone who thinks that $Something Billion figure we're sending along with the troops will go to rebuild Iraq and develop their economy, needs a check-up from the neck up. Halliburton will squander half of it, and most of what's left will be funnelled into the militias. Watch.

#4: It ain't about the oil. Bush wants a beach-head to attack Iran.

That's probably using "all the uniformed personel in US service" as "good guys", whereas only a small portion of them go to Eurasia/East Asia, and only a few of them are trigger-pullers.
