I redid the headliner in my old Tbird with Super 77 - worked really well, took weeks (literally) to get off my hands.

Bring the E-6000, Fishy. Even if they're not used in the Craft Corner of the bar, someon emay need it for other purposes.

I'm a firm believer in the adage - If I can't use something and it's totally worthless to me, some ogther burner will probably jump through fire to get it! And even better, we might just cross paths.

Oh - reminds me - how hard is it to replace the tabletop on a treadle sewing machine. I think it's time that my Singer 15 (which *will* be on the playa this year come hell or high water) got a new one. (The old one is delaminating - sad, as it's original 1920, but it's pretty much unusable as is...)

BBS- Super 77 Stank equals ECCCHHH. Lacquer thinner takes it off inna 'jif, and also degunks the nozzle of the can nicely.
Fishie- Sup6K is mondo useful stuff. A GOOP contendant.

Can't WAIT for Playa Crafts Nite.

Hah! You shouldn't HAVE to pick your nose, with GOOP on your fingers...Its boogery consistency should be sufficient to satisfy that desire to go diggin' again.

I got to play with the gnarliest two-part epoxy EVER, the other day...we use it at the banner works to secure the fiberglass poles to the cast-aluminum fittings, and Let Me Tell You- It's Serious Shit. Makes JB Weld look like the aforementioned boogers. But it has a powerful reek that would probably be enough to dissuade me from using it for anything but the most dire fastening dilemma.
Today's science project involves covering a small geodesic dome with fabric scraps, and observing their reaction as I squeegee Gorilla Glue onto them. Sort of a giant geodesic fabric pinata. Wish me luck.

When I go to sleep tonight, I anticipate having GOOP-filled dreams..

Can anyone speak to Goop use on fabrics - particularly stretch swimwear and Cordura nylon (not in the same costume).. would love to hear how well it holds bits on :)

After giving up on a pearl stich on the sewing machine and the buttoneer for fastening el to military dense canvas, I used it to attach the letters to my Cloak of Shame last year and it held famously. It's not good for places you will sit upon (the el, not the goop).

"S.O.S."....or, "SOTS"...both appropriate, I guess!

I'll have to inquire after the name of that epoxy- It's some sorta industrial gunk.

Xtra-G: Regarding fabric and GOOP, it's best on something with a weave that the GOOP can be pushed down into and then bond to the fibers. You could even adapt a strategy that I use for securing harder surfaces- Punch holes or makes slits, so that the adhesive can flow between surfaces and "lock" them together. Now, stretchy material may warrant a test, since the constant flexing may weaken the bond. Liberally applied, GOOP will probably just create stiff areas that no longer flex. As my venerable colleague noted, canvas is a dandy GOOP receiver; Leather can hold GOOP, but may tear off if the outer integuement is old and dry although generally, suede holds it beautifully. Cotton, fabulous. When fastening little gewgaws to material, try applying a little patch of GOOP and seeing if it bonds, and then using a little more to anchor your whatsis.

Thanks, O Jelly! GOOPy New Year, everybody! I'm actually on the way to the studio right NOW, to play with GOOP in SO many ways that it makes my head spin....or maybe it's just the fumes. Now that the skeleton of the PBR Mod* is complete, I have to make numerous thingies to fill it with- Control panels, spinny things for the exterior sensors, little art projects to stuff into the corners...Many tubes of GOOP will be squished before August, I'll tell you. Updates will follow.

(*The PBR Mod or "Playa-Based Relaxation Module" Is a three-story structure inspired by the Soyuz and L3 Soviet moon landers and that will be docked to the LabVerks Space Station orbiting high above Apokiliptika this year. )

I'll just imagine the content instead...A platoon of redheads in ultrashortshort battlekilts and mesh tac vests, busily GOOPing El wire onto Dragonfly Jafe's pedalpowered tank....

Awwww yeah.

I'm so excited....Today I have complete control over the maskmaking class that I'm co-teaching at the local art institute, and that can only mean...

GOOP SEMINAR

Awwww yeah.

Some of my topics:

-RV GOOP, Plumber's GOOP, Household GOOP- Is there REALLY a difference?

-What the hell do I do with that screw-on nozzle?

-Disposing of GOOP residue- "Back of the knee of your jeans" versus "under the edge of the workbench".

-"I KNOW I should keep a little water on the workbench to wet my finger before smoothing and spreading the GOOP, instead of just licking it because I'm too damn lazy to go get water and besides, it just gets spilled anyway....Am I going to die?"

I've already given all of my students Goodie Bags, filled with valuable bits of hardware and other debris from my Studio Pile...uh, I mean, archives. If we break new ground in GOOPTek, I'll be sure to post my findings here among my enlightened brethren. (And sistren.)

#1- No, not really.

#2- The purpose of the nozzle is to be used once to provide a miniscule dot of GOOP for a special project and to then waste ten times as much GOOP that just dries in the nozzle and is impossible to recap without using duct tape. (I have a small drawer filled with those freakin' nozzles, which I'm saving to use in an art project which, ironically, I will be hard-pressed to GOOP together because of the GOOP-resistant plastic they're made of. Hey! Hard-pressed! A (lame) GOOP pun!)

#3- Politely wipe GOOP residue onto napkin, and dispose of under the table.

#4- Eventually.

Re: #2: Killbuck showed me how to stick a long nail in it, the size of the opening. If you put it in a ziplock after that, you can just keep that tube around for the small jobs and it won't dry in the tube.

Re: #3: Did you know that Goop removes Goop from your hands? The former is Goop, a different brand which is a waterless hand cleaner. It will get the big chunks off but you still get to have fun peeling the rest off while you soak your weary bones in the bathtub.

Just to be certain that I'm not publishing Michigacentric GOOP results, I will now perform An Experiment: I will go to Florida for ONE WEEK, and see if GOOP properties are same or similar. Results to follow.
