Interview with Kernul Killbuck of Apokiliptika

Post by Chai Guy » Mon Feb 05, 2007 11:17 pm

Burncast #29

In today's episode Chai Guy and DaBomb go deep inside the Camp Apolkiliptika compound to interview Kernul Killbuck. We discuss art, politics, propaganda, and the origins of the camp.

We also eat bacon, a lot of bacon. This interview took place on the playa at Burning Man 2006.

Isn't it Pvt. Kil-luck? Anyway.. the mp3 won't play in my version of winamp. Than again my codecs are all fuxored up and this install of Winblows2K Slow is on its last legs. Guess I will have to wait until I do a fresh partition to listen to it.

Chai, I tried that videolan player and it was just too temperamental and unstable. I downloaded the m4a video codec for Windblows media player and it worked just peachy. My system may have a delicate tummy.

Oh and great interview! And many thanks to the Kernul for finally explaining that damned oven mitt thing. That about drove me nuts trying to figure out.

And Mr Jellyfish's reply transmission was great BTW. I liked the request for more Tang und "zpace food schticks." I can plainly see that any kind of schtick is a precious resource in Apokoliptika. Can't afford to run out of that.

Hey Dork,

Have you tried just clicking on the "listen" button, it should deliver to you a real mp3 file. I'm pretty sure it's an actual mp3 file and not just an extension.

also you can stream the audio from Burncasts Myspace page here:

http://www.myspace.com/burncast

to choose the Kernul Killbuck Podcast click on episode #29 in the streaming box in the lower left hand side of the page (left of the Frappr map).

Hope this all makes sense and sorry for the technical difficulites.

Ok, I managed to find valid mp3 files here:
http://nospectators.com/index.php?page=burncast

The file I get doing a save-as from tanjabarnes.com is 18k and when I try to open it in Windows Media Player I get an error - The file you are attempting to play has an extension that does not match the file format. It won't play in WMP or on my mp3 player. Many players don't care what the extension is so you might not get an error playing it especially on an Apple product.

The file from nospectators.com is 8k and plays without error.

I'm thinking the extra 10k is the inline images and whatnot.

I keep getting the following error message:

The operating system cannot run %1.

(It is the same message I get when trying to copy music from my c.d.s onto my computer. :( I don't know what's wrong with my computer.)

I would say the user is broken.. fix the user. J/K Seriously, if you are light on resources try booting with only what you need running. Disable crap like Quicktime and Realplayer etc etc from running in your tray. Keep your firewall and antivirus of course. Also take a peek at disabling uneeded services like Windows Messenger and Print Spooler. On machines I do not print from I disable the print spooler.. also consider nuking a large desktop wallpaper. The more stuff you stop from running automatically the more memory and resources you will have available to applications.

I most certainly do NOT "know" Her Kernul! (Not biblically!) :P

 No way. man! I'm not getting myself "fixed"!!!

(sigh) I probably am running low on resources. I've still got a lot of space on the hard disc, but I don't know about anything else. (I am definitely NOT a computer expert. My current machine is something a friend of mine put together out of leftover parts-- I'm not certain even he knows what's in it.)

I'll have to take some time to figure out what I can turn off and what I shouldn't.....

Thanks.

Didn't have a problem, and I'm running Win98 on an old 686.

Great interview, Chai, but I still think you should transcribe anything involving Larry so the LLC can add it to the Scriptures of the Borgian Awakening.

My favorite Kernul Moment is him beeping "that Charlie guy" on the nose during an interview for that (cancelled) Discovery Times show a couple years back...
