I think that's the only place I'll be able to afford to live in Marin if things don't pick up soon.

Will be greatly missed by all who cherish Democracy and Truth!

Except those Texas and other republicans and neo-cons who are celebrating as we read.

I'm sure Joel and his buds are having a party tonight!

She was dead on about GW "Shrub" Bush!

If only the "Good" die young,

does that mean that all old people are "Evil"?

I also met Molly Ivins one time at a book signing in Austin.

I would mourn if I didn't feel she had don eher work with vigor and integrity.

The word "only", when used by itself (i.e., not as part of the phrase "the only") introduces the predicate of an affirmative universal claim in categorical logic. So (if we follow out Billy Joel's corruption of the original idea), "Only the good die young" means "All people who die young are good."

It doesn't mean that all of the good people will die young, but it does mean that all of the jerks will be with us longer than we might have wanted.

The autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow...I wonder what the official cause of death will be? I've heard she was on methadone and with all the stress she had I'd bet she was on anti-depressants. Hmmm...it might turn out to be the same chemical combo that unfortunately killed her son that did her in.

My best friend's dad. He was family, I always called him "Pop" and his wife "Mom." Tough old Irish guy, red hair, potato nose and a fiery temper.

Went into the hospital a couple days ago for a broken ankle, and had a heart attack this morning. My friend is shattered, and I'm pretty wrecked myself. She adored him, I respected the hell out of him.

I've been there, done that, so I know what to do for her. We saw my father's death coming for several months, but sudden death is at least as bad. The sadness drags on longer.

Damn almost forgot Frankie Lane...he sung the Rawhide theme song from the show that made Clint great. Now Clint is even greater with the best war film I've ever seen....."Letter's from Iwo Jima" it's the best anti-war film I've ever seen too......
