Yes, Nothing-to-Prove will be hinged at the waist and capable of both bipedal and quadrupedal movement. It may look rather...ahmm...rude (hey back there! Quit that snickering!) but she'll go from Crinos to Hispo. When I was watching the Met's production of The Magic Flute, I watched how they worked the bear puppets very closely and I loved how the baby bears pounced around and went back and forth between upright and four-legged stances.

I just finished the frames for her breastbone, upper arms, spine, right paw, toepads and some of the pads for her paws. Tomorrow I'll start making her pelvis and that'll take awhile because I'm carving it out of a solid block of wood. I expect to be at that for the rest of the month, but it's necessary. The pelvic girdle will need to support the torso and the legs hang from it. Fortunately the jointing won't be too difficult. I'm using zipties for the compression and bungee cords for the energy return. To give you an idea about scale, her paws alone will measure 14" long by 6" wide.

Berkana Nothing-to-Prove versus MANtis? Ooooh. Yeah, she's two Glory points and one Wisdom from Elder status, if we can get a Philodox or another Galliard to witness the battle and sing the tale at the next moot she'll be that much closer. Watch out, though, she has very sharp fangs! Image

Hey, Capt'n Smashy, want to tag-team N-t-P with Herne the Hunter vs. MANtis + [suggestions]?

Worked on the puppet's skeleton today. It's one thing to think "Eight feet tall by three feet wide" and see the sketch on paper, but quite another to see the actual frame of the thing. It's impressive already and it's only a disjointed collection of cardboard, styrofoam, vacuum cleaner hose, wire, bungees and sticks.

I cut the lips, eyelids, ear liners, some paw pads and what will be the nosepad out of leather and I'm thinking of doing the claw armatures in latigo leather, covered in canvas and lacquered. The claws by themselves will be six inches long! Don't piss this Wolf-witch off!!

She'll be nice, though, if you're nice to her. I'm making her with touchy-feelies in mind. So if you see us coming, come up, rub her belly and say Hi! Image

Ran up against the budget for the week, so I have a full week to assemble it all and tweak it. We're right on schedule but I'm afraid she won't be ready to come to BayCon with me...

Sourcing copper powder and clay to make medallions for my H O W L Workshop participants. The mold's made, I just need to replicate it and get me paws on the actual materials.

Also hunting down food-safe plastic or silicone so I can make chocolate versions of the medallions Image

Today's crossword puzzle-- I'm pretty certain I have something wrong in the bottom left corner, but for the life of me can't figure out WHAT! Also, I'm really stumped on the top left corner....

Oh! And trying to figure out if I can earn enough by doing temp work to move out of my parents' place and back to Madison, WI and/or save enough to go out to the desert this August!

B.

P.S.: Who told the weather gods I would be driving back from Madison late this afternoon, so they knew when to hit us with snow?!! 55 seems slow on the interstate....

Trying to glue my brothers piggy bank back together. He got upset and I guess he somehow slammed it with the door or something. Anyhow, it broke into a brazillion pieces and I'm trying to put it back together. Almost finished but I'm missing a few key pieces. I fear they are hiding in the depths of his room. He's currently asleep so I can't really ask him to help me find them.

It is/was a kick ass bank, too. A pirate skill with a trifold hat. Held a lot of money. i can only hope the glue holds under the weight of 25 bucks worth of change.

Hey, did ya get the one on our apok thread? Why do they have to call it Spam? I like spam. Why don't they call it Raddish (never like d Raddishes... Horse Raddish an exception....) or call it HERRING!! even though I like herrings. Wait! KIWI!!! That's it.. "oh crap, somebody just Kiwi'd the board again"--- you could get Kiwi filters, and there could be whole lines of software like Kiwi-B-Gone, Kiwi Killer, etc. A positive boon for NZ promotion as well.

Just installed the platform for the airlock on the PBR Mod...It'll be both the entrance to the vehicle itself (a lifeboat for LabWerks) and the access to the Emergency Escape Pod, or EEP!. "EEP" will NOT be the noise that you make when you ride in it, I promise you.... Heh. Heh.

What am I working on?

At the moment.... normality.

Other than that, I'm trying to re-establish a working relationship with gravity... which for some reason, I've had difficulty with.

This is why it's nice occasionally to be...

Coming down from a telephone interview with Schneider National. They've given me a "conditional offer of employment" pending checking out my background. They also told me what license/endorsements I am supposed to get (including a Haz. Mat. within 90 days of hire-- which means I'll need to figure out where my birth certificate has gotten to).

They want to know when I would want to begin training, which means I need to figure out how long it would take to wrap things up around here. (When unemployment wants to schedule the hearing, amongst other things..... )

Yeesh. I feel like I need a nap! :?

Remember, you can always order another. From the County of your birth. Or maybe the state. (Texas has consilidated them in the past 15 years.) Check it out on the net, it's always useful to have an extra around, and they probably cost less than $30. I know, you're not working. Still, it's pretty darn cheap in the grand scheme...

Nothing-to-Prove is taking shape. I built her skull today and hung the torso skeleton from a plant bracket. She's hanging right about where she'll stand, 8.5' tall.

She rather looks more like a crocodile than a wolf right now, but that's because her teeth are exposed and I haven't done her ears yet. I have the forms but I'm still figuring out how to joint and cable-release those. Her eyes have also gone missing but I know roughly where they went. It's just a question of scrabbling through the pile to find them.

At this point, she looks very werewolfly imposing. When you're standing at the scale of acromegale giants and your head tips forward owing to weighty muzzle, that tends to follow. I hope to have the puppet finished in July so I can spend a month getting in shape and developing her mannerisms.

Hi Everyone..

What am I working on...Well, I would love to say gifts, costumes, and art right now but that would be a lie. I just found the apartment of my dreams and so I am currently getting rid of lots of stuff and getting ready for the move. The place is being renovated. My landlord is a fine artist and he will be making some mosaic art for my doors. I'm hoping its a nude piece. So I'm really excited. Of course, I am getting some odds and ends together for my journey back home as well. Hope everyone is fine as well. XOXOX
