Sketch Comedy

Post by Dat Girl » Tue Mar 13, 2007 9:00 pm

Anyone interested in doing improv or sketch comedy on the playa? Or, do you have a stage that might want to host a show. I have a show called Secret Sauce, looking for some interested parties at the party ...

By all means do your sketch at your nearly porta-pottie bank. There is a captive audience and a backdrop.

I use them all day long for my stand-up routine.

I'd be interested in getting involved with sketch comedy, stand-up, or improv. I took an improv class at Burning Man last year but it was time constrained and not very rewarding. I'd like to try again, though.

Let me know where you'll be performing.
I love comedy.
Couldn't find someone who wanted to go when I was in LA this time.
At the improv in nyc I saw rudner before she hit.
I have a shirt signed by tenuta with something very rude.
"Everything is more wonderful when you do it with a car, don't you think?"
-girl by the fire, watching a tree moved by car bumper in the bonfire

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

Any Cosmonaughties that enjoy witty whimsical improv fun (with or without an outrageous east german accent) should stop by Labwerks at the 3:00 Plaza (part of Terminal City). Bring your spacesuit if you have one...

If you want an idea of what Labwerks is about, listen to podcast #33 on the Burncast site http://www.burncast.net/

I am looking for some people to do some long/short form improv with. My group won't be anywhere near the playa, so I'm looking to play around with anyone. Alas, no stage, but as previously mentioned, anywhere there are a lot of people standing around, there's an audience. The lines for coffee, ice, portos, etc. are all doable.

Spontaneous theater/ improv

Post by Greenltdistrict » Mon Jul 16, 2007 1:48 pm

Our camp (the Green Lt District) is offering Spolin based theater games to the community and we LOVE to play!! In fact we just built from scratch a 32' dome to play in!!! The idea is to share the fundamentals of improve using the games and at night (the first three) have a show were people can use their discoveries. We are improv mostly but would love to experience sketch...so dat girl or other improv folk talk to us mabye we work something out...

Beautiful burn
