Schneider has an ad up on Job Net for 25 openings for "Entry level Truck Driver"(sic). They list virtually ALL of the counties in Wisconsin (as far as I can tell) and several other states as work sites. $35,500 Per Year to $43,500 Per Year as pay, 40 to 70 hours per week. out 2 weeks, home 2 days, out 2 weeks, home 2 days (sic) is what is under Shift/Work Days.
The manuevering (sp?) I've seen some truck drivers do to get up to a loading dock kind of worries me, plus I don't know about handling something that big for long periods of time on a regular basis-- I'm kind of afraid my mind would wander and I'd take out some poor soul in a compact car...!
Dunno. Have to see how the "temp to hire" jobs go, and if Culligan calls me back about an interview for their water and water softener pellets delivery job (and, if they do and I go out on the orientation route, if I can handle it!)
Poor hamsters! Having a pair of predators staring into their cage all day!
One guy I knew had a cat with the worst luck. Not only did she fall asleep on a second floor railing, and roll over in her sleep, waking up halfway to the floor, but she had a bad encounter with his hedgehog. Both cats were fascinated by the "strange animal in the cage", but Ditto was the one to take the initiative one day when Jason was cleaning the cage. She saw the door was open, so hopped into the cage to get a closer look at the hedgehog. The hedgehog, having its space invaded and nowhere to run, poked out its spines and charged the (much larger) cat! Poor Ditto got a nose full of spikes and couldn't get out of the cage fast enough! To add insult to injury, the other cat, Barley, took to lying on the hedgehog's cage after them, seemingly to mock Ditto.
(Poor Ditto never did catch a break. Apparently that side of Madison has a problem with mineral build up in the gas lines, which resulted in the pilot light in the water heater in Jason's house going out. The leak wasn't detected until his son came home and found Ditto dead from the gas. Luckily for Jason, his dog had figured out what was wrong and, when Jason went into the basement to examine the water heater, his dog made certain Jason stayed concious (sp?) until he got back upstairs.)
whew. That went longer than I expected!
