GENERATORS
With this years theme focusing on the environment, generators seem to be an issue. Is it possible to expand the electrical grid, to power more theme camps? ...reducing the number of generators used? Are the big assed generators used by Burning Man capable of that? Just a thought...
anything worth doing is worth overdoing..

There've been some camps that got together with their neighbours and went in on a construction site gennie rental together. Most of the larger camps bring one of those just as a matter of course. I believe HeeBeeGeeBee Healers bring a biodiesel gennie to power their camp with.
Unless you're part of a village, neighbour coalition or mega-camp, consider solar. You can probably trick your camp out with solar for the cost of a gennie rental but unlike the rental, you get to keep the panels and lights. Might not be a bad idea to supplement with solar lights in any case; they're getting cheaper and cheaper.

Camp YOU-topia is comprised of engineers from many fields. They are currently out on the playa installing boilers that harness geo-thermal energy that is nearby. The boilers have turbines which generate 115v 60hz electricity. They are running underground powerlines along the proposed streets for next years burn. There will be an American standard outlet every 10 feet along the proposed streets. Keep in mind that the street layout will likely change so you may have to hunt for your nearest outlet.

To serious address this, first it would apply to those who wish to completely embrace the theme. Very few people have completely embraces the themes in the years past, so I don't see why anyone would expect many people to completely embrace it this year. Additionally, the greenest thing you could probably do on a personal level is to just not show up. Just by attending you're expanding many more resources than you could be. So by being there you're already likely the antithesis of "green".With this years theme focusing on the environment, generators seem to be an issue
Green?
Who the fuck said green had to me environmentally friendly. It is just green. Fuck I want to look into making green smoke rings for the fire cannon. It is all interpolation. Think of it as you want and do what you want. Just dont expect every one to think the way you do.

I am bringing all three of my Hondas not because I need the juice, but because I want the juice. I have done my tent days on the Playa. These days, the old bones want air conditioning and the extra 2KW of juice for the espresso machine.
For me the green theme means putting copper chloride in the fuel before we torch some shit.

Be sure to get there early enough to access one of the water pipes.
They will not extend to walk in camping.
We are bringing a generator on a rail car that will run wide open distributing power by wideband high frequency distribution.
Use any large coil to pick up power or a fluorescent tube may light on it's own.
Caution: Radio equipment may experience some interference.

Sounds cool - count me out!! non ionizing radiation from a source that big would be like a death ray eminating in every direction, cooking all sorts of flesh and popping corn spontaneously!!!
Would be cool as hell though.

One of the Meanie Greenies (Figjam 2013)
On the plus side you can cook hot dogs by holding them up in front of the directional antenna.
Best to keep your head below the throat though and use wood or plastic utensils.
The plant is too big to move from the area of the rails.
It has only been used once by little old bechtel to build a resort city in mexico.
