Absolutely Killer KoolAid !

He was also the dude that said :

He had the potential to greatly assist everyone to collectively realize anything that their hearts desire. With enough support, he asserted he had the potential to not only bring together, inspire and empower countless numbers, but to organize their energy towards some deeply purposeful action. His group would function perfectly without any kind of discrimination among participants, granting equal access and meaning to everyone from the devout world changing activist to the casual daydreamer who stumbled across an urge to fight injustice.

He also saw that :

Together we were being faced with an ever increasing number of issues in the world today, both large and small in scale at a ever increasing rate. Yet at the same time, becoming increasingly separate from one another in an ever increasing number of ways. And he declared the immeasurable consequences,... not only on our collective level of suffering but on all the lost possibilities of our time. ..and how No one with even the faintest connection to the most basic elements of humanity can ignore nor deny this anymore.

That`s when he began his mission of organizing the best of what "we are together", regardless of how or what for, ...

Now those are some telling words!

Those who followed his prescriptions blindly were promised that they would become a divine powerful catalyst for connection and empowerment with any like-minded individual, and a creative incentive to stand up against all or any day-to-day injustice, or an invincible center for the conception of other tools for the salvation of humankind.
With unquestioning support he promised his flock endless new potentials for all input, output, cause, action, and reaction for any kind of effort by any kind of person...

...sounds really familiar.

...Jimmy apparently left a few important details out when he was recruiting
new members to join him in creating his version of Utopia in a remote third world country

As a matter of fact, he turned out to be a fucking freak who was just plain miserably wrong on so many levels it baffles the imagination of any sane individual,...let alone any individual like me.

In the meantime
I will relish hearing more details of the fabulous action plan that would change my world...giving it all the benefit of my doubt.

If you dont have anything constructive to say, dont say anything at all.
Constructive does not always equal positive/complimentary. There is a lot of constructive criticism on here. First you need to get your point across in a clear way, which you do not do. Just because it's clear to you (and Mr. Sock Puppet), doesn't mean you did a good job; you didn't. It's uninteresting, uncreative, and completely lacks substance or it's hidden somewhere it obscurity. The whole webpage and summary need to be rewritten. It's not just one or two little things, it needs a complete overhaul. I don't think anyone here is going to do it for you, so if you truly believe you have good ideas in there somewhere you'll have to put in the effort if you want to have any hope of sharing it with a significant number of others.

Until you've done that there is really no point in trying to give constructive criticism on any other points, since they are so vague.

That site reminds me of Fireseed's site.

IMHO it's all "blah bullshit". I wish the eplaya had a way of de-priortizing threads like the 3playa does so you can skip past this mindless drivel and not be inclined to read it.

No need to stress. But somebody should send a link to the Burners Without Borders info page ... it seems like they are actually DOING some of the stuff that this person is idealistically sermonizing about.

ANd yeah, that totally was a Sock Puppet back there towards the end of the 1st page.

Well last night I shaved my balls. The sensitivity gives me bigger better orgasms. This in turn makes me a much happier fellow. Which in turn makes for a nicer guy about town.

Shameless plug: Buy one of these and it's no big deal.

Unlike traditional electrics this one doesn't "bite" and it works quite well for "sensitive areas".

Oh and Fireseed.....start with CFL bulbs in every light socket in the house, upgrading every major appliance possible to Energy Star compliant models, installing a "flip chip" for the truck so I can flip from max power settings to max fuel economy settings, obsessively checking tire pressure on a bi-weekly basis, buying recycled paper products, installing rain barrels and a rain garden to collect rofftop runoff. That being said am I some kind of environmentalist? Nope. There are some things I refuse to change like driving my SUV and having the latest, greatest power sucking Direct X 10 compliant video cards in my PC...but I do look out for opportunites to make a difference and do it when I can. And IMHO that's almost all we can really ask individuals to do.

I have considered it and contacted a few places. For some reason the hang up on guys like me, when my wife calls they are very cordial until they find out she is calling for a guy and she gets hung up on. I guess I'm doomed to use a razor until death.

Sensei's right, of course. *waves to Sensei* But I didn't drive until almost 30, and work for an environmental agency. Both of which make me deeply suspicious of easy answers and scolding for better behavior.

And I still hate bad prose. Bad prose is a bigger threat than you understand. Cheesy feel-good vague happiness is about as helpful to the earth as monkey farts.

....but if we could only just work together,
stop behaving so savagely towards each other,
and channel all those monkey farts ...

...gather each and every monkey butt together,
... in the same place,
... at the same time;

...and figure out some way to effectively tax a monkey`s ass ,

...What a world,

Oh!

What a world it could be. . .

Fireseed, you're asking to change basic human nature.
Any time that you get 10 open, honest people together some SOB will come along to screw them.
It's OK to be open and honest if you have nothing to lose/protect.
The more that a person/group has, the more SOBs they attract.
All organisms have a natural tendency to conservation of energy. Steal rather than work. Crime DOES pay.
If you can gather your own group with no oportunistic SOBs and find your own little corner, you might thrive.
The Amish don't accumulate wealth that can be easily carted away. They don't allow anyone to join them. It's OK to be a pacifist if you have some war-mongers to protect you.
There are many "intentional communities" around. They have progressed from the original idea of the "commune" Some do well. Some disintigrate.
It's just very difficult for the sheep to keep out the wolves.

To attempt this in the world at large has been unworkable---so far.
Honest people always seem to eventually get blindsided by some wolf in sheep's clothing.
"The meek shall inheirit the earth" Yeah right,,,,6 feet of it.
I don't post things because I believe that they are the absolute truth. I post them because I believe that they should be considered.
