History Repeating Itself (classic examples)

Post by EvilDustBooger » Fri Mar 23, 2007 9:58 am

2000 B.C. -- Here, eat this root.
1000 A.D. -- That root is evil. Here, say this prayer.
1850 A.D. -- That prayer is superstitious. Here, drink this potion.
1940 A.D. -- That potion is snake oil. Here, swallow this pill.
1985 A.D. -- That pill is ineffective. Here, take this antibiotic.
2000 A.D. -- That antibiotic is unnecessary...Here, eat this root.

What about Rescuers Down Under? I liked that one much better than the original Rescuers.

I am the people your parents warned you about.

week of Junior Prom / My junior year Stacey G turns me down for sex after dating for like 2 weeks "I have to wait" is her response. That was in 1989.

I move on, have a few flings, get married have three munchkins a career that is slowly killing me with stress turning my hair grey at 35. anyways I get sedperated and divorced and live next to my exwife.

End up going home and run into Stacey, we go on a few dates, catch up, have pretty much the same stories, and I get turned down again for sex with her. Damn it history repeating itself sucks (sometimes)

later all.

I watched 2010: The Year We Make Contact

again I cried:

On the Discovery, an apparition of Bowman appears before Floyd, warning him that they must leave Jupiter within two days. Floyd asks what will happen at that time and Bowman replies, "Something wonderful."

Everytime I cross into the Black Rock Desert and see BM on the Horizon I get the same feeling: "Something Wonderful" will happen.

As I approach the playa I usually hear "Also Sprach Zarathustra" in my head- But it's the jazzy Deodato version, that was used in "Being There".
