Hello all, my name is SeaShell, and I am creating a memorial video for the La Contessa. Unfortunately though, I've never been able to bring a video camera to the playa, so I have no video clips to manipulate and create a movie. So, I was wondering if all you wonderful playa people out there could help me out by sending me any pictures and/or video clips that you think would be helpful? (I don't think the msg thing through here will support large files like video clips, so you can send things to my email [email protected])
Does anyone have any ideas or want to help in any way? If so, feel free to email me at that address, and I will also do my best to check back here regularly.
Thanks all!!!!!
With much love,
SeaShell
PS Sorry if this is in the wrong thread...

Seashell - sounds like a great project.
One easy way I found to move viddeo and share at the same time is using Youtube, or any of the other free sites.
1. Original person uploads and gives you license to use.
2. you download as an .flv file, and convert to whatever format you wish. -
3. Real simple, and its someone elses server. with an easy to use interface.
4. if you odnt know how to dl .flv files. go to Youtube, and type in "downloading youtube videos" theres a video on downloading videos from youtube, on youtube - crazy.
anyways just a tip we have used to send large vids back from abroad.
you can even open an acocutn and set to private so you need an invite to open the vids if you choose.
not endorsing youtube here, but its an easy option, as is metacafe, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion Mdmf007. I actually have attempted to contact several people who have Burning Man videos on youtube for permission to use thier video(s)....I just figured that ePlaya is more direct since we're all burners, so I'm more likely to find videos not in general circulation. Once someone that has a viedeo contacts me, then I can make arrangements for actually transfereing the file...whether that is through a service like YouTube, or if it's small enough to simply email...at this point I'm more interested in finding out what's out there to get a general idea of what I might have to work with.

wow
Thanks Toolmaker...you directed me to a link to her Viking Funeral that touched me deeply. I may make a Burning Man video including the La Contessa in the ways I best remember her, but seeing the funeral and the memorial video was like having stepped into a time machine...I clicked on the link and the perfect memorial was already in existance. Well done to those that planned/participated in her funeral and the making of the acompanying movie. Thank you.
