Oh come on, that's it? You call that a tinfoil hat? Puhleeze, can someone Photochop something better than that?

That looks like little more than a sheet of foil laid across some dude's head. I'm so disappointed that I clicked that link! Step it up! (grin)

Obviously Heli, you won't make it into the Kernul's eplaya art gallery at that rate!

Edit: BTW Heli, if you have a site tracker check out today's log file.

Today's word of the day: "Overkill". Sheesh, people would likely have more interest in selling the aluminum foil than the info that PC has on it.

What is more revealing is the traffic both before and after the subjects initial posts.

I am reviewing logs, traffic and other "items" as far back as September 14, 2003. Some very interesting things found so far...

OK what are you guys talking about?

On the Brimstone.burningman.com:

A little man from the bmorg has told me and who will remain secret has told me that eplaya.burningman had been moved and in his words,

"It was changed last year because we wanted to put eplaya on adedicated server for security reasons."

If any of you guys knew and just didn't tell me: no cookies for you at the eplaya meet and greet! I do enough foolish things, so I don't need your help.

AIIZ

PS- what up with the FBI and the Un-Warrentless Letters? over 50,000 illegal uses in 2004. Well see how far this goes in Congress after we impeach bush!

The new "dedicated server" which truth be known is an old Packard Bell 386 with the added bonus of a math co-processor installed seems to have exceeded the power requirements of the el-cheapo $1 Trisonic surge protector that some high-falutin server GOD hooked up.

Good lord, I haven't laughed that hard in months.

If I recall correctly the eplaya was hosted on the mail server for awhile so moving it made sense....it's better to pacify your internal customers before worrying about the external ones. But beyond that aspect of the move....from an external user perspective little has changed. Of course that point of view along with others has already been flogged over in Case Studies and other similar areas.

As for the FBI's un-warrantless letters, that is very worthy of discussion. That ain't no tinfoil hat type stuff from what I'm seeing in the mainstream media. For example NPR covered the problem, here's a quick link for the "CITE!" folks!

"I believed that the FBI was acting responsibly in using national security letters," Gonzales said. "Because of the good work of I.G., I've come to learn that I was wrong. Undoubtedly, some will argue that the FBI should forfeit its authority to use this tool. Instead, I would urge patience."

I too urge patience, Soon SS Gonzales and Bush will be gone. Gonzales Quits very soon. Bush Impeached by his own party.

As I had warn in the, "Write Your Congressman" Thread, Gonadzo should never had been confirmed.

Egypt is now using the usa as an excuse to restrict freedom and change the constitution.

It's not any sort of hack and you aren't actually connecting to brimstone, netstat is just picking the wrong server name to display.
This is clearly a case where a little bit of knowledge (how to use a tool like netstat) yields bizzarre assumptions by somebody who doesn't have enough information to draw a complete picture, so he just fills in the blanks instead.

Netstat have always shown Eplaya.burningman.com not brimstone you Sock. Irregardless, ip with is shown with the extention (-n) it could have still been hacked and my machine still show the correct address even if I wasn't really there.

The question is why didn't anyone of you tell what was happening to eplaya if you knew?

So when will be see you again Moisture Pup the SOCK?

On the FBI's stolen Laptop, whether or not, someone stole them and if someone can do so right from under the eyes of the most powerful law enforcement agency in the world that makes it even more of a problem.

One reason why we need polygraphs test for all law enforcement and maybe for people who have access to eplaya or burningmans server!

Some configuration change in the burningman.com name registration or with your name server caused brimstone to start popping up in your netstat and I explained why it doesn't mean anything. What difference does it make to you if a server was installed a year ago, or some naming change was made recently for administration purposes?

For the record...and having met the man one thing is clear. Moisture Pup is not a sock. (In fact he's very nice and worth stopping by his camp to meet, IMHO.)

As far as the servers go, servers get changed. The world turns, the sun comes up in the East and sets in the West and servers get updated. It's just how it is. Perhaps it's time for this thread to come to a graceful end and the FBI issues and such could be discussed (flogged) elsewhere?

Whatever was done, I can once again reach eplaya.
I couldn't get or keep a connection for a couple of months there.
Probably related to servers here.
