center camp coffee

Post by olivia » Fri Sep 05, 2003 12:52 am

love or hate center cafe, the coffee is so good, even compared to real world brew.

nothing is better than marching in there first thing in the morning proudly bearing your "boycott center cafe" sticker from 2002 and downing an iced soy mocha.

if only the girls at martha's would wear that hot body paint

i can think of two places, off hand, that have better coffee than center camp.

one only serves it in the morning, and has limited quantities since it is brewed in a french press, so yu have to show up with your cup right after the air raid siren goes off.

the other, the urbis orbis cafe, was not out there this year (due to potential childbirth problems) is run by a guy from chicago who roasts his own beans and espressos them for you right there. it doesn't seat a lot of people, and he doesn't make frappelattechinos, but it makes the stuff you get at center camp taste like ass drippings.

I had an RV this year, so luckily I could brew my own gourmet coffee. But I loved the atmosphere at the Cafe so much that I would take my own cup down there. It is impossible to describe the amazing feeling I had every time I sat in the cafe for a few hours and all of the beautiful people floated by. The closest to heaven I have ever been for sure!

If ya want bilgewater coffee and overpriced espresso center camp is the place.

If ya want and NEED to get your morning jump started, stop by EspressoCamp. Serving only NakedEspresso...with some attitude.

Center Camp is not about the coffee.
It's the CAMP! In the CENTER!
It's people at their best and their worst.
It's the Golgotha of Caffeination.
Anything can happen there.

Just not free, naked espresso.

Corretto...

Just not GOOD, free, naked espresso.

When you have to pay Scarfucks prices for a f--king espresso out there where we're supposed to be a gift economy... And get a cuppa something any bar in Umbria or La Marche or Lazio would throw out as "spughia"... Sorry, but it doesn't come close. For $4 that's Criminal.

Please. I don't want to anger people. But whenever I go to the CCC I get the feeling I could save $200 (or whatever) and go to a mall at home. Is this your idea of "radical self reliance"?

Sorry - shutting up NOW!
