Problem of grilling at night

This solar grill cooks fine during the sunshiny hours of our lives on the playa, but then we can't cook at night.

For more information,

180 euros, and I don't know the shipping from Switzerland. More photos linked to on the page.

There are some solar cooking clubs out there too.

Here are a few ovens.

If you search solar oven, there are several.

I think edmund scientific had some reflectors that could be used too.
You can always make your own too.

The hybrid grill works at night, but needs electricity.

Mmmmm. One of my friends who is a former burner brought his solar oven to the playa one year. Oooooh, man. He made pizzas from scratch. And I mean from scratch. Flour and water for the dough, big honkin' bricks of cheese that he grated by hand, fresh artichokes, the works. Best pizza I've ever had, but what a lot of work.

Pizza needs a pretty high temperature, doesn't it?

I constructed a prototype geothermal oven, but now we'll have to move to Hawaii to make it work.

that lunar grill thing sounds like a great idea (guess you'd need a really big magnifying glass or two to focus the moonlight?). Too bad there's going to be an eclipse. kinda shoots down the whole concept.

Get you one of them physician's head-mirrors, and it will reflect the light from the fire back onto the crispy juicy meat.

I have no clue. He baked pizzas at BM and at Eureka Dunes at Thanksgiving. See

photos 1, 7, & 8 for photos of him at work and his set up. This is at Eureka Dunes in 2000.
