Post by swoopee57 » Thu Feb 22, 2007 6:59 pm

Hi all, I'm here with a better plan to make it to the Man this year. I have 4 large sculptures to build that has neon and stained glass. It will be lots of fun!!! What do you think?

Weren't we discussing details about neon and glass last year? Great to hear that you're gettin' it going! Will you be setting it up around camp, or on the open playa? Details, dammit! We need details! Neon looks fantastic on the playa at night....

Where to put sculpture

Post by swoopee57 » Fri Feb 23, 2007 4:54 pm

Hi Robotland,

Yes we were discussing neon last year. This is a more prepared idea, with drawings, and even starting to get sponsors and such. I will have it displayed on the Playa. I'm still not sure where we are going to be. Details will evolve soon enough.

Now is the time for planning, scheming, and lots and lots of tube bending.

Thanks for remembering,
Tim

shipping to the Playa

Post by swoopee57 » Thu Apr 12, 2007 7:06 am

Hi,
this large neon and stained glass sculpture needs to get to the playa. I know that there is a group in New York that plans to use a cargo crate to ship there. I was wondering if anyone in the DC, Baltimore, Philly, Harrisburg, or Pitt area wanted to share a crate to ship there. Or maybe hire a Semi to drive it.

I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Tim

Have you checked your regionals? I know in years' past that Philly burners rented a semi, and I think New Yorkers do, too.

If you don't get a response here, check the regionals along the Eastern Seaboard.

regional burners

Post by swoopee57 » Sun Apr 15, 2007 5:29 pm

Hi,

Yes I have tried to contact the regional burners. I've gotten some good responces with ideas, but all are too expensive for the size that I am bringing to the Playa.

I was hoping that someone could help me come up with that, AH HA idea about what to do.

Thanks,
Tim
