Lorgasm here droppin by to check in on D place. Guess I'l just tidy up a bit for the night stalkers.

Lorgasm finds a broom, a trash bag, and a Margarita.

Cool, thanks for the drink my unknown saviour. I can't wait for my friends to show up. Think I'll replenish the ice coolers and make sure I got all the blankets and scarves out should anyone get cold.

There, now for the finishing touch. I'll make some shots, cover them, and leave them for my friends. Well, gotta go and mingle with the neighbors.

Great Margarita. Yummy.

Very nice! Love the cartoons! I did a little stint as a political cartoonist for the university paper one year. It was fun, and hard work, and it gave me a new appreciation of those who can actually do that work.

Ahh...

... memories!.... when I was in high school, I made acquintence with the Great Paul Conrad... who was the LA Times Political Cartoon Sage during the Watergate deal... he did the classic one of the Presidential Seal with a ball and chain attached.... made Time magazine.

I...ah... am sorta thinking of doing ed-cartoons for our local capital paper... the guy doing them now is... well, he sucks... bad. He must have a relative in the ed dept. But, gotta lose my touchy "Gov" job before I can do it.... ya know? PLEASE soon!

Well, it's a great gig. And if you can actually make a dollar or two in the process, all the better. That is gaming the system. Take them for all they're willing to be worth.

I remember one (among many) that they refused to print: First prez bush and some chinese leader shaking hands, each standing on coffins labeled with various "conflicts", agreeing to 'Most Favored Nation' trading status. "Seeing eye to eye", i believe the caption was. The editors had other agendas in mind.

Eeeeh....

The publisher of the NY Times had to admit that there is little editorial freedom anymore... as papers are really no longer fed by subscriptions, but by advertising... and they now all must... must be "careful".

Orwell had the all mightly government as his boogyman... but maybe the 70s film "Rollerball" had it right... the corporations ultimately run everything, and goverment becomes the subcontractor.

This is why I am not too resentful of cyber news.... blogs and the like. For a brief shining moment... it'll carry through. But... sigh... the dollar will consume all...

Let us take the motto of The Mutaytor--
"Plot. Scheme. Toil. Smash. Repeat."

Mm hmm. And yet, our whole political system is *predicated* on the theory that we have an independent media, informing the masses. There were a large number of our 'founding fathers' who thought the idea of the public making decisions (House of Reps as equal to Executive, etc.) is insane. We are too easily deceived and whipped up into mob frenzies. Fox "news", anyone? And here we are.

Another core element of our political system (although forgotten and ignored today) is that the right of revolution is "Divine". It is inaliable. When your government has ceased to respond to the needs of the people, but instead only enriches itself and its friends, it is a God-given right for the people to overthrow such a government. At what point do we call this noble experiment failed? The government working hand in hand with corporations to the detriment of the people is the definition of fascism.

Ha!!!! I simply MUST introduce you to Lex... a political philosopher of the first stripe!

Revolution is a word all too easily bantied about... in most cases... but there are times when it is a poor descriptor of the remedy required.

It is indeed true... that the cabals of those who folly with governance, inept as they are, and fool to think that the vurtues of the merchants are somehow better, or more "right" that those of the public servant... should be left to do their damage buy virtue of the tenure of their office, is akin to letting the arson ply his obsession by... the simple virtue of his nature.

"It is not his fault, it is his way, that's all"

I hope that the recourse does not require a revolution... perhaps folly will pay it's own price... and teach us what is lost... when we are complacent.

Correction:

A error made on my behalf..."Shiva Vista Platform" is not/nor affliated with the "Rock Opera Stage". 2 different groups of people building 2 different platforms.
