Dj Shah-Burningman 2007

Post by ron5657 » Sun Apr 08, 2007 4:57 am

:D I need help! I was in contact with Dj Shah, he's a world class dj from Germany who is on Tiesto's Black Hole Recordings label. He would like to play at burningman this year and asked for contacts for playing. Who do i need to contact to make this happen? His music is awesome and would be perfect for BM!

I suppose you could look at the list of theme camps last year and contact some of the bigger sound camps. Chances are most of them are either coming back or know how to get ahold of someone who is.

Or he could do like the rest of us and bring all his own equipment and play whenever he wants.

We don't book DJ's. He'll need to connect with a theme camp seeking acts - there's no central way to do this other than posting on "Stages seeking bands/bands seeking stages", which is a different section of the eplaya altogether.

And yes indeed, he'll need a ticket like everyone else.

The board to check is the "2007 Art & Performance" board. I don't see it yet, but there should soon be two sticky threads posted - Artists seeking stages (where he should post his info) and Stages seeking artists (where he should be watching to see camps and collectives posting their stuff).

Another great resource he should check out... Tiesto (who participates in the event and performs on the playa).

I don't mean to keep saying he and not you as any kind of snub, but logistically speaking it is much easier/better for the artist to be speaking directly with the people booking him/her, instead of using a person in the middle. Info gets lost, wires get crossed, and gigs wind up getting missed all too often when everything is coordinated through a third party.
