Post by PlayaBitch » Mon Apr 16, 2007 6:20 pm

Hey all ~> a couple of weeks ago I found a web site.. i thought on here that had other burners willing to hold up a travelling burner for a night or vice versa where you could add your home to a list if a burner needed a place to stay ... does anyone know of a web site like that?? i forgot where it was..

It's funny.
Everyone used to travel that way.
It sort of died out for some reason.

Well, I am currently living at my parents' place, so I can't offer you any space. (Then again, if you were to wind up in Wisconsin, while traveling from Florida to Gerlach, you'd be a little off course, anyway! )

I can't read any of that and I've got a 19 inch monitor.
Give me a break!

Yeah, I can read that.
It was the color, not the size.
Could you read it when you typed it?
If so, how?

Has anyone used the Couchsurfing website?
I'm in Europe for the month of May and had a few offers for places to stay after joining the site and sending some emails ..... it'd be nice to hear feedback from someone who's tried it before.

I can't remember where I saw it mentioned.

Yes, before posting when it was still black and white, and when I checked it afterwards when it was posted (or, to be more accurate, I could read it after I changed the type to bold faced).

With a little bit of difficulty. Cyan isn't the easiest to read. Maybe it is a difference in monitor settings? (And, yes, I was being a smart-ass by enlarging the print by that much! :P )

I figured you might have a monochrome monitor.
I have a pretty good 19 inch monitor multisync.
Didn't show up at all.

Full color, LCD monitor I bought when my old monitor suddenly quit working one day. Its some sort of widescreen, I don't recall the size. (It is called a MAG Innovision-- I never heard of the brand before. It is okay, although it was the annoying habit of ever now and then changing the brightness on me.)

I used to swear by amber screen monitors, but finally gave in to full color. (Of course, the best monitor I ever used was on an old Commodore Pet. Those black and white monitors were really sharp and easy to read. Oh well, I suppose "progress" in inevitable.)

Hell I didn't know anyone was still using monochrome monitors anymore.

Some laptops are locked into them.
And you can't beat them for power consumption.
