Hi there Bas!

Uh.. the guy on the picture is Ari Behn,
He is married to Princess Märtha Louises of Norway.

He makes me confused because he is born in the same day as me, and owns my favorite car DeLorian.Image

I don't get the fascination with DeLoreans. There's 4 of them around here and after getting the chance to really check one out I'm just not that impressed. Did I miss something?

Back on topic I don't know what was done to correct the webcam but I kinda wish they'd left it alone...that view looks so damn good it's making me wish I was on the playa again!

The Delorean never got a proper engine, a common problem with small car companies.
There are some modified ones out there.
I saw about twenty at one time once.
I had a feeling it wouldn't happen again.

If you are looking for a sports car check out the Lotus Elise or Exige, especially the S1.
In the custom area, I'm looking at the factory five coupe.

It is hard to find a DeLorean with the time travel package! They were a pretty cool car, but launched at the wrong time, in the wrong place, among other things. (Plus, with the stainless steel body, they had problems with fingerprints showing up all over the surface, and being hard to get rid of.)

I used to cut through the parking lot of a classic car replica shop, and sometimes they had a (real) Lotus sports car parked in their lot. It was one of the classic ones with the flat back and mid-engine (I've forgotten the name). It was a really cool car, and I wanted one! (Still do, actually, not that I know what I would do with one!) I'm kind of surprised no one ever stole it, considering the neighborhood.

I just bought the Hot Wheels version of a Talbot Lago, which was a pretty cool looking car, in a completely different manner. The Hot Wheels (and Matchbox) versions of classic cars are a lot cheaper and easier to care for.

Sounds right! I hadn't realized it got that good gas mileage. Still probably couldn't afford one, or even the insurance. Might be nice in the city for commuting, or other trips where cargo capacity wasn't needed. (They are beautiful cars!)

(Just checked online, and, yes, it was a brown Europa. I'm not certain what year, but the later, 1970s, ones look closer to what I remember.)

Oh shit! The Floating World theme was back in 2002 so it can't be reused. Damn, we're screwed.

Toad Hall

Post by gyre » Sun Apr 22, 2007 11:58 pm

If you are ever on the cape, there is a great bed and breakfast called Toad Hall.
It has a car museum in the back.
There is a Europa on the roof.
I have a fabulous picture of a cat climbing into the engine bay.
I'll post it if I can get my hands on a copy of photoshop and the other goodies I need on this machine.

They had one of the first Exige S1s in the country.
They also have a first series Elise.

I don't know when/if I will get out that way. (If only someone would buy me the winning lottery ticket! ) I should have got a picture of the one in the Town of Madison, I don't know why I never thought of it.

The replicar place has a replica of a classic Ford Thunderbird mounted on a couple of posts in front as part of its sign. Last I saw the thing was getting pretty weather beaten.

So, the reason the Europa got such good gas mileage was that it was powered by cats?!! Well, my friends three cats seem to have a lot of energy, I guess.... (A four cc engine= four chaotic cats? :? )

It is a very light car and, as you saw, small with low air drag.
They came with several engines, all four cylinder.
I like the four cc thing.
It is an interesting museum.
They let the cats run all over the place.
I have a picture of a big cat sprawled over the british flag painted on the roof of one of the last Minicoopers made.
(And I don't mean that bmw they sell now.)

You can go to the cape.
Just go before the season starts and don't stay in the high rent district.
John Waters called the real estate shows there, real estate porn.
