I just saw this on Tribe and thought I'd post it over here.

I just got this note from Eliza, Crypto's sister.
She was in an accident and is in ultra-grave condition.
Please keep her close in your thoughts.

Hi, Doll Parts

I am Crypto's sister Eliza. I have the following message for you to post. We do not have contact information for many of her friends. When you put up the post, I'll give a comment and let people know they can send stuff to me.

POST:

Crypto was very severely injured Friday, April 27 while trying to board a train in Innsbruck, Austria. Both legs have been amputated about 5" above the knee. She is in an induced coma. An additional operation is scheduled for Wednesday (tomorrow). The hospital she is in has a specialized trauma center and has very good equipment.

Her mother, Sally, will be flying out on Thursday and arriving on Friday. Her sister Magda will be out this weekend. We do not know if she will be conscious by then.

Not much there yet. We will try to keep it up to date as we learn about her condition.

We do not know when she will be coming home but when she does, she will need as much love and support as possible. Please send her your thoughts and messages.

That is so sad. What a wonderful person combined with a horrible accident. Our prayers are with her and all those close to her.

Thank God she was in a big city with good care available.

I had always thought those euro trains were the model of efficiency and safety. At least I felt that when I rode them. I guess I had the wrong idea.

Please know that Crypto is surrounded by family and loved ones (or will be very, very shortly). Also, it might help to know that as you're reading this, there are people all over this vast country of ours who are thinking of Cryptofishist and sending their love.

She'll know.

I'm shellshocked and stunned by this, it brought me to tears which is very rare. When I think of Fishy I remember her sitting there in the rickshaw watching the man burn this year and I looked over at her and was just in awe. She's been through so damn much especially after Scott passed.

That being said there are threads here and on the 3playa especially that talk about how she handled things after Scott, and you'll quickly notice her inner strength and resilience in there. Those things are going to serve her well in the days ahead. Of all the things to happen to someone...horrible doesn't do it justice. But if there's anyone that's got the ability to fight through it and overcome, it would be Fishy. I'm no longer going to think about anything negative, I'm going to send as much positive thoughts and well wishes that I can her way. I'm also including her family in those thoughts, may they have the strength to be there for her when she needs it the most.

Does anybody know someone well connected in the euro burner community that might know someone in Innsbruck ? just thinking if we could find a local burner, he / she might be able to help out the family in some way when they get to Austria.

I have photos of Fishy and Scott from the wedding on-playa two years ago (which I missed, and have always regretted). I don't even think she realizes I have them...they were on the disposable cameras she let me use last year after I got to her place on our way up to the event and realized I'd left my digital home. I'll be spending a sizeable chunk of tonight getting them uploaded; I'll post a link as soon as I'm done.

Good idea. Avalon Village has an entire camp of Euro burners. I sent mail to the village lists I'm on.

I've never met Crypto in person, yet she is somebody I often confide in in private messages on tribe. This is really shocking...

I hope we can all come together as a community to help her through this.

Wow...

In a relatively short period of time... all of you have come here to say what you will or need. Yeah... this is a sucky way to actually relate feelings... but it is immediate... and that's what I need for sure right now.

All our best thoughts to her.... well wishes... good vibes.

Fishy is a regular... like all of us... and she is family.

She really stands out, which is saying something given the company she keeps. Always a snarky quip or kind word exactly when needed. I was really looking forward to sharing a village with her this year!
