Wow, OMG, F*#@*^g disgust in life's wicked turns, are just some of the feelings I had last night as I read the news. This morning while feeding the goldfish I found myself trying to channel Karma to Fishy..............

The thoughts that have been going through my mind since I found out last night are pure shock. HOW can someone so loving, so sweet, so kind, so giving, who has been through SO much SHIT already be put to THIS??!!
Fishie... we love you, hon. Please, please, PLEASE recover and get back home to us. We need you here...
Still sobbing into my sleeve...

oh my god
i just saw the staff-list posting. i am horrified. such an honorable, clever, caring woman who has faced so much already - i can't even think straight...
fishy - there is sooo much love out here for you...

i think finding euroburners to help out over there is brilliant. bring elements of the playa to her room... i am trying to get a mailing address for the hospital. will let you all know if i do.

Feel free to join the Free Burning Man tribe and post a message to Crypto: http://tribes.tribe.net/burnfree/thread ... ed13243b8d
She reads that tribe, and somebody is planning to put together a card for her with what is written in that thread.
fantastic. thanks, pup!
i think all kinds of folks should send all kinds of notes, stuffies, photos, playadust, whatever... fill her room with lovins.
i just spoke with Brian Willson (not the beach boy, the activist who laid down in front of a munitions train in protest of Vietnam and that damn train didn't stop - he lost both his legs at the knee. he lives near me and just happened to walk into my office just now). He's going to send her a note letting her know that she can get through this. he's also got a fabulous prostheticist in SF.

I posted this in Tribe hoping to get a response...
Does anyone here know Crypto's actual name? It'd go a long way towards helping folks wishing to send cards, letters or care packages to her hospital in Austria. I imagine that she's not going to be stabilized enough to travel for some time.
This might be a good place to make inquiries on how best to address materials:
Innsbruck Medical University
Christoph-Probst-Platz
Innrain 52

Österreich

Knowing that not very many of us speak Due"tch, Im sure you'll want to print the envelope (Like above) so the medical mail room knows how to deliver! The stamp must be a "value stamp" not first class as foreign countries dont accept. apprx is $0.84 for one ounce.
In lower left corner put the words AIRMAIL/PAR AVION other wise it will be on the slow boat and take 4-6 weeks.
Dont forget the umlets over the O in osterrieich and the U in FUR
(thank you BBSUE!) Nice to have someone with children over there!

Ladies, gentlemen, and the rest of you...we have a project.
Most of you know Fishy had been able to access Tribe and ePlaya less and less from work; one of her stated plans after she got back from Europe was to start looking into a computer for home. I think it should be waiting for her when she gets here.
We need someone to spec out a good, SOLID machine (I'm thinking laptop, personally, so she can have it in whatever rehab facility she's placed in, as well as at home) and someone to collect the funds. I'm currently holding funds for another event in my PayPal account, or I'd volunteer for the latter position. If we REALLY rock the contributions, we might even spring for the first six months of her ISP bill.
I've got $20 to start the ball rolling. Who's in?
