Are you crazy? Thats the last night for burners to really enjoy the playa before all the tourists show up on Thursday. I'll be available in Reno for pre-burn chats from the 21st to the 25th.

We'll probably have a small caravan coming through early on the 25th. We might have room to grab someone or some junk but we'll probably not stop for long, if at all. Plans aren't final yet but if someone is doing something big we might stop for an hour or two and might be able to take some stuff and travel with others

I must be a "Tourist" because there is no way I can break away before the 28th. I've decided to change the get together to Winemuca now, same day tho.

if anyone is travelling in the same general direction, would be down for some drinks along the way as well!

I'll be on the playa on the 18th, come around and have a cold beer if you are also working pre-event. I'll be making a major supply run to Sparks on the Friday before so if you need some little odd or end from Home Depot, look me up. I'll be where Iron Rose gets placed so just ask a placer. I'll probably have a long shade structure with the legs off on one side making a lean-to looking kinda thing with a tent at one end. The burn barrel will be going most nights. Stop by and warm up.

Check out the Layover In Reno thread for a great place at a great price to get together.

I must be a tourist too! I plan to show up around 07:00am Thursday. I could leave Wedensday after work and arrive around 10:00pm but I did that in 02, except it was Friday night when I arrived. I did'nt care for driving around the perimeter in the dark trying to find a spot. To avoid that distinction, maybe I will leave after work and show up Wedensday night. WTF differance dose it make if someone arrives Monday or Friday or someday in between. We all payed for a ticket. If someone chooses to arrive Monday and get the most for their money, great! If someone chooses to arrive Saturday and get the least so be it. It's their money, not yours. Maybe they don't have time from work to allow a full week of activitey or finacially can't afford to take a full week w/o pay, if thats the case.

Nixon to Gerlach is 60 miles. Unless you camp on the west side of the lake and continue north on SR445 past Warrior Point. After that the road is graded dirt and poorly maintained. It's also on the res, and for that reason I would not drive it after dark. I would'nt know if there are direction signs to Gerlach. Every time I go to the Black Rock Desert, either for BM or four wheeling, I always go through Wadsworth and Nixon. There are some white man ranches just off the res so there might be signs. I'd like to find out.
