Wanna fight crime?
I love working here!! My newest project entails chatting it up to pervs online, and trying to find out who is a predator or not. Also tracking down unregistered sex offendors, and internet scammers.
I have been given a budget; albeit a small one to hire 4-6 adult women that are young enough looking to chat up sexual predators and find out what their intentions are.
pilot project is to run 2 months - maybe longer if warranted. There are rules obviously to protect everyone -
1. pseudonyms must be used - be who you want
2. cant use your own computer, must use ours at the office in Seattle
3. Cant bait or entrap people - or goad them into a crime (is that a word)
4. must be willing to testify if needed.
5. more details if you PM
6. Lunch provided
Must live in puget sound region. This project really hits home as I have friends that have been assaulted and would love to prevent even one attack. Aim of this project is not to bust people for chatting filthy or bait them into a crime, rather to stop actual people that will commit a crime and target children and underage persons the infirmed, handicapped, elderly etc.
Sex crimes are only about 50% of the aim of his project the rest is to sniff out people that take advantage of others.
if this violates TOS let me know or take it down. I thought Eplaya would be a great resource to find the people tat want to help out.
love M.

Just curious, Who are you collecting this "information" for?
Not that I'm against prosecuting criminals, but it seems to me you are collecting information on those "innocent until proven guilty", also......
Mmmm.... Interesting..........

No problem - this is for a community based nonprofit church.
They want this study done to determine how easy it is, document and share show how easy it is for kids to be decieved, for adults to track down kids, and for scammers to do their thing.
Only the most egregious of actions will be forwarded to the law as this entire project is not endorsed by any agency of law enforcement and is merely meant as an information gathering excercise. We will have locations set up for predators to go to, but no LE officers or interaction will be involved per the churchs request.
I should have mentioned that in the begining.

Enough said........unjonharley wrote:This study has been done to death.. Your just looking for a knee-jerk problem to go off on..
IMHO, stopping those that exploit others, especially the young, is a nobel cause........ creating paranoid political fascism based upon "studies" is quite another.

The only way I can see this being of real use is if your org gets law enforcement directly involved before you start doing this or if you take it underground and do some vigilante justice on their asses.

Otherwise what is the final purpose? To encourage people to not let their kids on-line unsupervised? I'd think doing some research and spending the time and resources put into this study may suit that purpose better. I have not seen that show but I've heard about when they expose people doing this. The public humiliation is a nice form of vigilante justice and is a way to put fear into others who may think about going after the youngins.

Thought crimes
Another group of adults pretending to be over-sexualized children on the internet?
Nothing weird about that.
Bush wanted tens of millions of americans to inform on each other.
Read the original plans they tried to put into practice.
Currently law enforcement prosecutes these conspiracy crimes for someone arranging sex with an adult.
Probably forcing plea bargains through extortion.
Don't expect it to last.
If you do anything other than gather information, get a very good lawyer.
You have no immunity through the group.
Eventually there will be huge lawsuits involving all the groups like this.
Criminal charges aren't impossible.
This is much creepier than child molesters.
