FREE Ride OFFERED to/from BM 2007 from LA!
We'd like to find one or two people to drive our large (rented) RV to and from BM. We pay all gas, insurance and other RV costs. RV will carry your stuff and ours. You pick us at Reno Airport on the way up and drop us off there on the way back. We fly back and forth. We load and unload together in LA. During BM, you must have another place to stay (tent, other friends, etc). RV will only be available for your round-trip transportation, not for use during BM. We need to drastically cut the travel time in order to attend. Please be willing to provide references, DMV history or whatever. We need to know the rented RV will be in good hands.

How early is the RV available for pick-up and how soon would you like it back since some of us leave early to set up art and large camps? What year is the RV and how good of condition? What do you expect from the driver if it breaks down? For example, lets say the engine melts down into a solid lump of iron, do you expect the driver to find a way to fix it, or just drop it at a shop and keep going to the event? Also how many can it legally seat?

We're talking here about a RENTED RV, not one we own. We will get a large, 35+ foot, Class A (bus style) RV.
As far as breakdowns, that's all handled by the rental company, roadside emergency assistance and insurance coverage.
The rental will be for no more than 10 days total, perhaps as little as 7 days.

Driving an RV might be closer to a 10 to 12 hour drive. I agree that it's not much saved time, but if that's what works for you I hope you find someone. I thought I might be able to drive it but we have to get there early to prepare junk. You may get there half a day sooner. It is much easier to fly than to drive for 12 hours straight though.

I wasnt disagreeing that your offer kicks ass for someone that may not have been able to go otherwise. I am sure that there are plenty of people in LA and surrounding ares that are going to jump on this.
Since its an RZV, I would just drive at night, and arrive in the AM. Set up camp while the drivers sleep. -
Good luck and have fun.

I'll take you up on your offer. I was originally planning on taking my motorcycle up, but if there's a way I can get my things up there, it will make my life easier (and cheaper).
