Stages Seeking Artists
Need help booking artists and performers at your camp/installation/mutant vehicle on the playa?
You've come to the right place! Tell us about your camp and your venue. What have you got, and what are you looking for? Post the details you can, so artists and performers have a better idea of the kind of space you'll be creating on the playa. Massive sound installation, mobile art car, vaudeville stage, stripper pole, ambient space, etc... stages come in all shapes and sizes.
This is the thread that coordinators/organizers for camps, installations, or mutant vehicles with stages coming to Burning Man 2007 can use to help find artists, bands, DJ's, and other performers.

Golden Cafe Seeks Musicians and Performers
The Golden Cafe is a cocktail lounge and supper club featuring live original music. We have a house band, Holy Cow, that performs throughout the day, but we frequently invite other performers to jam with them or to do a few sets on their own. Most of our performers lean towards psychedelic rock, jazz, bluegrass, and other genres that deviate from the trance that is so ubiquitous in BRC. We're constantly seeking musicians to sit in with our house band, other groups that can expand our horizons (cabaret? barbershop quartet? gospel? russian folk music? triphop? bossatronica?), and other performance artists with something unique to contribute. If this sounds like your scene, please send us a message or contact me through www.goldencafe.org!

Dancers, Musicians, DJ's, Stage Talent Needed for The Havana
The Havana Room is looking for talent to display on our beautiful raised stage at this year's BM 2007. What we are looking for is;
DJ's - Especially with a Latin, or Caribbean, or downright exotic theme. If you can get booties movin', we want to talk to you.
Musicians - Do you play Jazz, Lounge Music, Flamenco, or anything that would feel right at home in a swanky lounge? If so, The Havana Room sounds like the right venue for you.
Dancers - Salsa, Merengue, Samba, Swing, Burlesque, or anything exotic (such as Polynesian, or Josephine Baker's Banana Dance). If you have elaborate costumes (such as Carnival type of costumes or Burlesque outfits) then we want you dancing on our raised stage, and taking walks down our catwalk.
Stage Talent - Comedians, Sword Swallowers, Magicians, or anything else you might find in a variety show in the 50's or 60's is welcome here. Just ask, and if it fits the vibe of The Havana Room, welcome to our stage.
Anyone Else - We are welcoming solid people to join our camp, so if you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves then relax with a mojito and fine cigar afterwards, then you've found the right camp. Let's start a dialogue.
Here's a description of The Havana Room
In keeping with the "Green" theme, we are creating a paradise in the middle of the desert, inspired by lush Havana of days gone by. So, break out your leisure suit or bunny ears, saunter in like James Bond, Michael Corleone, or one of the Rat Packers, take a seat at the cigar bar, roulette table, or poker pit, and enjoy the show featuring salsa, burlesque, and more. In addition to the show, music ranges the gamut from the Buena Vista Social Club, Bebel Gilberto, even Hooverphonic. Guest DJ's will be spinning everything from theme music to whatever fits the vibe.

Hey Randy... I posted in the thread you started elsewhere on this board as well. 20,000+ watts of crisp and clean sound is truly a wonderful thing....
But not at 4:20 and G. Due to abuses in past years, they actually restrict sound systems over 300 watts to Esplanade or the 2 o'clock/10 o'clock spikes. Whether you're scratching the sound of baby screams or have the most amazing DJ the world has ever known, cranking that at 4:20 & G will likely get you in trouble with rangers/bmorg in no time and make life tougher for all the others who bring big sound to the playa.
Please be respectful - don't plug that system in at that location. Team up with one of the registered theme camps who's already in a space 'zoned' for big sound. PM me if you'd like a hand getting in touch with some folks.

I never really planned on playing there! Maybe with a few speakers and a monitor. I will drag the system myself to the middle of the playa and play if I have too.

moonshine luv shack looking to have a hoe down
once the playa sand castle then playa sex castle now the moonshine luv shack. i would love to connect with moonshine camp or some great bluegrass performers to have or put on a show. the shack is just under 30 foot but can manuver into some pretty tight spots. she's a great stage as the band is covered by the upper deck and they are also raised up about 3 feet to better their visibility.

From SF Bay Area - Playa DJ'ing
Hey all,
I'm bringing some gear out and will be at BM for the first 3 or 4 days, but would love to DJ at one of the other camps. I'm only bring out about 1500 watts of gear, but also lights, lasers, fog, strobes, disco balls, etc.
I've been dj'ing at a few parties here in the SF Bay Area made up of many of us in the SF Bay kiteboarding crew (I run www.bayareakiteboarding.com). We've done an outdoor event and a couple club parties. Everyone has commented on how good what I've been playing is, so I'll take their word for it.
I can plug into any mixer and play from iPod running on a Numark iDJ (yeah, I know, not vinyl, but whatever) and play house, deep house, electro, trance and psytrance, depending on the crowd and the energy.
If anyone wants to offer up an hour or two for a set, I'd be stoked to go on...
