I met a guy from Oakland, He had all of his stuff on a small trailer, and solicited someone to drag his ass up to the Burn. He paid half the gas if I remember right. He had a week once there to find a ride back. He wasnt there on wednesday when we left so he must have found a tow.
you have plenty of time to figure it out, and a small trailer is cheap to buy, even less to rent.

Green Tortoise [Greentortoise.com], provides shuttle bus service from Seattle and San Francisco - starting Tuesday night departure, Wednesday dawn arrival - with groceries purchased for group meals (passengers take turns with meal prep under driver supervision) and reserved camping.
From SAC, you'd have either to go down to SF or see if they'd let you make a special arrangement to meet them at their meal/BYOB buy stop near Sacro.
They get to do that in return for providing the Gerlach-Empire shuttle service the rest of the week.
I love 'em, did my first burn that way, and take their other trip, but for the playa, I prefer the cooking autonomy and earlier arrival options.
And it sound like you have a shot at a ride share, so go for it...

Burning Man is about being part of a community. Unfortunately, it's a community of people who can't get up before 1 p.m. - The Onion
