Artists: Spirit Masks Wanted at the Ambivalent Grove

Artists-- we'd love to show your work, in the form of a hanging or freestanding mask, in the Ambivalent Grove. While normal playa conditions apply (eg, harsh!), masks will be cherished and hung with care, and returned to you, if desired, at the end of the Burn.

We are also seeking 3 - 5 artists who want to submit a Spirit Mask to the Grove to join our Spirit Mask anchor pieces. The Spirit Masks should be large, ideally several feet in diameter. Lighting, fire-spitting, wind-wiggling, and other embellishments are of course welcome. Willing to deal with shipping, etc, for the right masks. If the mask needs maintainance, such as refueling, we can do it, or you are welcome to camp with us if you are lending a Spirit Mask.

"The Ambivalent Grove will feature the beautiful and terrible aspects of the personification of Nature. Giant spirit-masks will adorn the outside of the Grove, personifying not only the Green Man, but the Huntresses of Diana, Fierce Maenads, Duppy Jonah (the Green Man of the ocean deeps), and other nature spirits who make their home in the shaded clearings, kelp stands, grassy knolls, and mysterious caverns of the Ambivalent Grove. Smaller versions of the masks will festoon the Grove, and pegs with labels will be available for visitors to add to the mask collection. "
