I'm happy to say that Tarwater will be back this year.
Amongst other things, we will be creating the Wonderland of Worthless Objects: a 3-D display of things that have no good reason to exist. The negative environmental impact of their production, packaging, transportation and disposal, far out weights whatever usefulness, or enjoyment, such items provide. (For example; the Cell Phone Couch--we found several thousand of them at the county dump.)
We have bucketfuls of objects, but we would gladly accept more. (Things too breakable, or otherwise fragile to survive the Playa, can’t be used. Probably shouldn’t use anything radioactive either…) Please IM, if you have something you’d like to send.

GREAT!
I had the notion of a theme camp dedicated specifically to the worthless kitchen appliances - such as:
The chocolate fountain
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chocolate_fountain
what kitchen would be complete without one?
The quesadilla maker - because a skillet is just so 20th century
http://www.pronto.com/search.do?&SEM=tr ... plete=true
and pretty much anything in the frontgate catalog...
