Like any lightweight tarp tent it's good for rain if you know how to pitch a tent, not so good for shade unless you cover it w/ camo netting or shade mesh, and near useless for dust.

I like it a lot. You can easily fit two two-man dome tents underneath it plus a table and chairs for dining plus clothing bins and etc... It's fairly sturdy but to withstand the winds of BRC you MUST stake it down with rebar - I used 3 foot long pieces bent into U's at all tie down points. I tried using the included plastic stakes and some of them pulled out in the big windstorm we had last year. It works best if you tie it off to a vehicle with the narrow end pointing into the wind (like you can see in the pic) but what I'd really like to do is attach it length-wise to an RV - the space underneath it would nearly double. The best thing about the Pavillion is it allows you to roll up the sides and get some air circulation when it's hot and then you can drop the sides when it's cold or windy. It is pricey though, I worked a deal to get mine really cheap but I'm not sure if I could recommend paying retail for it.
