That's what I would have thought at first glance, but then again, I also know how one can be driven to do foolish and brave and remarkable things after undergoing something like this - if for no other reason than to... what's the proper phrase...
Ah, yes... "Show those bastards they can't hold me down".
I have seen it before. The main thing is if she does decide to try, it will be on us (all of us) to make sure she has support and whatnot., regardless if we think she's a brave warrior or crazy woman (or maybe both!)... not to treat her as a fool for believing she can. Belief is a STRONG thing.
The one thing which will do NO good is knock her ambition, whatever it is. THAT will put artificial boundaries on her where none existed before, cause a major setback in her healing, and is something her friends should avoid.
She may not want to come out, and that's her right, but if she does decide to come out, that's her right, too, and she'll have the support of... hmmm... thousands either way!
Remember, tho, I extrapolated this from a comment a few lines back by (the other) BB... which may or may not have been misconstrued.
OTOH... were it me... if there were a snowballs chance I could pull it off... I would. 90 days be damned. And I am not at liberty to discuss the particulars, but yes, there IS historical precedent for it. (And she already has a ticket waiting for her should she decide to do it.)
Hugz and stuff...

Fishy's sister Magda, posting to the blog, wrote:Here is an update from my mother:
Chukka is scheduled to sit in a wheelchair today. When allowed, I'll take her outside.
So that's what Boxy was on about. No mention of the desert...and as several of us have noted in the past, it's unlikely she would have wanted to come back this year with two good legs. So cherish the 1:87 scale Fishy we will have with us, and we'll make a point of bringing a bit of Decompression to her at whatever extended-care facility she winds up in Stateside. After sharing a bit more from their mother, Magda wrote:This sounds like encouraging news. The wheelchair trial is important becasue Chukka will need to be able to sit up for take off and landing when she is medevaced back to the USA. Of course I expect they will be doing a short trial and then increasing the time.
Keep rooting for Chukka. I know she wants to get access to the internet (currently not possible in the hospital) and I expect she will want to see this blog and be in contact when she can.

Tank Chair is a Custom off-road wheelchair that can go anywhere outdoors. Conquers Streams, Mud, Snow, Sand, and Gravel, allowing you to get back to nature, and can also climb up and down stairs.
For every 10 chairs sold, TankChair is going to donate one to a fire department in a rural area so that they can give it away to someone who would not normally be able to afford one. The first is going to go to Parker Fire Department in Arizona. This is our hometown and they were the ones who rescued my wife, my kids, and myself when we got in the accident that put her in the chair.
We need to send her a pic. I think she would love it.

Oh Gods, this is such great news.
Home by tonight! Oh, the jet-lag! Oh, the relief!
Not exactly Home HOME, but closer to home. Family and friends. Anyone who sees her, give her a hug for me!
