Things that bit..
The other night something bit me on the inner lower arm.. The next morning the bite had swollen to the size of a dollar bill.. There was a core spot the size of a quarter..
I took one aspirin and placed it in a few drops on water in a spoon.. Just as the aspirin started to melt i placed it over the core spot and covered it with a tight band aide..
After about two hours the discomfort eased.. I removed the aspirin and could see an opening on the top of the core..
Then with a *pimple spoon I pressed stinger out.. Then cleaned the area with hydrogen peroxide and cotton swab.. Using the swab and peroxide I forced the opening larger..
Next hot compresses until the swelling and itching stopped..
This left a knot the size of a dine.. Just reapplly an aspirin and tight band aide..
* pimple spoon, A loop to remove black head or pimple.. This looks like a tiny spoon with a hole in the center.. A very handy thing in the aide box for removing stingers.. Found at make up counters in drug stores..

Thanks
What a treat. Takes me down nostalgia lane.
My grandfather showed me the old aspirin trick some 35 years ago when I would spend summers on the farm. I haven't used it myself but man, does it bring back memories.
Aspirin = acetylsalicylic acid
It can also remove warts and can burn a hole in your stomach.

The insect could have been one of these little fuckers:

Diphenhydramine works for most poisons, bee stings and so on.
I like the liquid because it's easier to adjust dosage.

Re: Thanks
If Aspirin were discovered today it would be a "by prescription only" drug.Token wrote:

My understanding is that they don't usually live in modern bedding.
I think they live in small cracks here and there, in some cases a long way from the bed.
I think this was a spider.. There are two bits about two inchs apart.. I my have knocked his pecker off when he bit..
The big hotels in the east have been having trouble with bed bugs.. It's said the pest are traveling west..Yes they hide in walls and other cracks waiting for a host..
The other thing I am going to do is make a cedar chip pillow for the cat.. Pest hop on to travel but they don't like cedar..
