Tante bb's Breakfast Shooters...

1 grapefruit, quartered
2 sprigs wilted mint
1 ounce Rose’s lime juice
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
1 teaspoon fine kosher salt
1 ea 1000 mg vitamin C
1 ea 325 MG aspirin
2 ounces canned sour mix
4 ounces Mountain Dew
1.5 ounces Old Overholt Rye whiskey
1 ounce Pepe Lopez Tequila (silver)
Float - 1/8" Sloe Gin.
then float - 1/8" Sauterne

Take rind from one segment of grapefruit - mash into glass to extract oil, then discard. Put Mint, Sugar, Salt and both tablets into bottom of glass and muddle thoroughly. Add Roses, juice from 1/4 grapefruit, and sour mix, stir to fully incorporate. Add Whiskey, Tequila, stir, rub rim with another grapefruit rind, then add Mountain dew. Float Sloe gin and Sauterne.

Garnish with Playa dust, serve lukewarm as a shooter.

...thanks Mozy.

...dang BB Sue !
that looks totally chock full of vitamins and stuff.
Looks like a hell of a hang over cure.
I could see me drinking that down and then have my stomach
erupt like pouring vinegar on baking soda!

I may have to save that one for after lunch!

OK Mozy... why is it not?

Oh yeah... ))**~~SMOOCH!!~~**((

Where was I? Oh yeah. WHY is it not easy? Job transferring you to Iraq? Need to transport transplant organs that week? Gonna be working on the ISS? Leading an expedition to Denali? Re-welding the Chunnel on an emergency contract? What what what???

Otherwise... mmmm... you have no excuse. Ticket isn't horrible expensive, you haven't been banned off the Playa, got no rangers who want to do you violence...

So be there. It really *is* that simple! If *I* can go... you can!

(There, pushed enough for a little while, now to sit back and wait... heh heh heh...)

Oh, about the drink... You *can* substitute baking soda for the salt at a 2.5 to one ratio, and then using wine vinegar as a shooter instead of the Sauterne floater, should be just *ducky*...

Oh.
Yeah. It`s not looking good for me being on playa this year either

Oh well.
Plenty of outdoors here in Oklahoma to help ease the pangs I guess.
(if it would EVER stop raining)

...Thanks Sue, but I think I`ll stick with your original shooter recipe(have you ever really tried this?)
the other way would be a horrible waste o` the good rye whiksy!

(Pries open trap door with bare hands, bending the steel cover, and shouting down the rabbit hole...)

You CANNOT evade my questions, dear Mozy, nor can you escape so easily...

You have NO escape, and NO hope. Even *if* you think you can get away from us now... we *will* have you on the playa. Your fleeing IS your downfall - you have NO reason to avoid the blessed doom of the Dust...

You HAVE been warned. You ARE doomed. and... You SHALL confess!

(Jumps down rabbit hole after Mozy, steel door clangs shut over the top. Muffled screams are heard in the background...)

Yikes!

You've been strolling around here since 8:30 this morning (my time) with your underwear down around your ankles (nice tan, by the way)? They have a name for that, you know... (and a Happy Hour scheduled several times during the week, it seems)

That`s the best kind.
nice and dry with hints of oak and blackberries
just a little leathery and warm on the finish
perfect
