Making sure that you were on the far side of the prospective leap, of course.

now the turtles, I’ve had them almost 20 years and they haven’t tried to kill me once.
Haahaha

Bump lost the end of hers with Zippy.

Edit: she forgot he was not a cat.

he was a cat... scrached at the back door to get out and lay by the pool all day.
then scrached at the door to get in at night.

used the cat box.

and chased the dog around.

Edit: no cage at all.

man I miss my dragon.

even after he took off the tip of my thumb I was going to keep him because I felt responsible to provide a home for an exotic even though he was domestically raised, there is just to much creepy shit around the reptile and bird trade taking them from the wild and losing 3/4 of the shipment while smuggling them in. so I took having an exotic very seriously and I couldn’t help but love the big guy , but not enough to take the risk of having important body part bitten off .

Around here we are down to two cats, one cockatiel, and one finch...which is pretty much an all-time low since the eighties (when we started havin' kids).

I kind of miss having finches I had zebras when they where first starting to import them and basically ended up with a flock flying around the screened off living room building nests on the aquarium rack and book cases ,... (this was before I was married, the bird went into an aviary when the woman moved in ) ,..... I would sell a half dozen or so a few times a year to a pet store

No Zebra finches ... fallow along

Well if you must go to Texas, and I am impressed by your positive attitude about the place, then at least drink a decent beer while you're there.

Oh and be sure to get your smot poking done before you get there. First time possession of a doobie can get you a year in the pokey.

I had no idea that Texas had such a large German population until I went there with my folks and stayed at my aunt's for several weeks (I was the designated driver the WHOLE time). They had some story about how the cowboy originated from German farm hands.

Good beer CAN be found in Texas, though- makes a girl wonder.

and Turtle.. yummmmm......

This place is wantin' a fish, fer sure.
As for Germans in Texas - massive wave went there in 1848 after failed revolutions back home. Blended with Mexican culture and voila! - Mariachi!
