Lakshmi--welcome (soon) to Colorado! We sure do have a lot of Colorado folks on this here board! You'll love it, though it will be a bit of an adjustment from NYC (particularly ultra-conservative C-Springs.)
Sorry Anti-M barked at you. I got barked at my first or second post (not by her) and it does sucketh indeed. Anti-M is typically very nice and civil and usually has great insights. She's incredibly stuck-up however, refusing to acknowledge all my prior compliments and prattling on about "mi-Larry" (not THE Larry.)
Be sure to check out Denver Cacaphony and the Denver BM scene. Really active lotsa fun.

I'm making the trip from FL (Pensacola) and looking for someone to rideshare. It would be great if I can find others to carpool / caravan and split costs, but the important thing is finding extra drivers.
While you many not have the money to chip in, you can chip in with 'labor' as in driving. Isn't that part of BM anyway? Bartering? You need to travel, you have driving skills.
You can join us, if you can meet us on the route.

I'm also coming over from Fla (east coast side), solo in my 4x4. My only worry about taking a rider is that I wanted to avoid hotel costs by sleeping in cab (crew cab truck). As far as fuel costs, lets just say that at approx 6000 miles round trip I'm looking at about 430 gallons of diesel fuel total. Multiply that by $3 per gal.....you get what I'm talking about.

I hear you, fuel cost alone is going to be a grand. I'm in the same boat and figure ride share can cover more ground faster. Could even drive straight through (or close) if needed.
Carpool combined in a Caravan would be prefect. I've talked to a few people in the tri-state area, maybe it'll work out. If interested just drop me an e-mail.

Don't downplay peoples need to look at maps. I was recently on a plane to Glasgow, Scotland, sitting next to an American Couple. Their plan was to rent a car and drive to Ireland.AntiM wrote:Sorry, I thought I was being funny. But honestly, lots of folks pop on and have a route in mind which doesn't exist in this world. It gets a tick wearying after the tenth dozenth time.
I had to explain to them that Ireland was an Island.
How's that for bad planning.

You can't go to burning man from where I live.
You have to go around something to get there, however you go.
San Francisco is almost the same distance from here, going west.
