Pregnant at Burning Man (no RV) -- got advice?
Hey there... 2007 will be my 6th burn and my first time being pregnant... I've been reading all this stuff about how you shouldn't be in the heat while pregnant, and since it's now way too late to rent an RV, I'm a little worried about this being ok... By the time BM rolls around I'll probably be around 3-4 months (I just found out today, so not sure how far along I am).
Has anyone been pregnant out there before and not had an RV?

I don't know anything about being pregnant, but it wasn't very hot last year.
It always could be hotter this year.
If you wear sun protection and don't overdo it. you should be able to manage the heat part.
You might email the medics at burning man.
Make sure you have good shade with you.

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

Eat well and drink even more fluids - remember yer not just eating but drinking water for 2 (or 3) (or more) (evil giggles...).
Have cool areas set aside for breaks, Don't run around like yer not preggers, and... um... (ahem) NO STRESS!!! All of the signs you're attuned to anyway - DON'T ignore them. If something feels wrong, DON'T blow it off - and if ya can't figure out what the wierd feel is, get a second opinion from someone who makes a living doing stuff like that.
Most of my family are desert dwellers, and the womenfolk have, surprisingly, survived carrying children in the Nevada Summer wihtout problems. Being pregnant isn't hard out there (even camping), just use common sense and DON'T OVER EXERT yerself.
(and... um... to one certain staph person who might just happen to be 6.5 months along (congrats!!)... If shit starts to hit out there, delegate and breathe!!! And expect those of us burners who know about this now to keep an eye on ya to make sure ya don't wipe out!!)

Fortunately the pukes, supernatural sense of smell and that kind of stuff usually go away after the first trimester, and the violent mood swings and rampant horniness begin. But, hey, isn't that what Burning Man is all about?
Shady Asylum is bringing a huge-ass chill space including grass, I'm told, so at least you have a place to hide out when it gets hot.
We have a 10 m.o., but my wife would have definately gone between 4 and 6 months had the timing worked out last year... talk to your doctor, though. :>
