Hello, all! I'm putting in my annual plug here, offering a way for anyone producing or reproducing any sort of music at BRC to give that music a permanent home at http://www.PlayaTunes.com. This is my gift to the Burning Man community, so I encourage anyone involved in some sort of playa-related music to get in touch. If you have any means of recording then I can put that onto the site, no problem. If you have no way of recording I have some loaner equipment, so let's talk.

I think you missed the sets I posted that were recorded at the 2006 Temple Of Breaks. Check the Electric Theatre archives, there are a couple sets posted.

There are a couple other sets that still have to get posted, I'm waiting to get files fixed and cleared by the artists...

SCARAB Tuesday night world music dance; Radio Electra

Post by waltsnipe » Thu Jul 12, 2007 7:52 am

SCARAB Camp will be having it's annual Tuesday night world music dance, from 8-10:45pm. This year's theme is world reggae. I give a mix of the night's music to the first 50 dancers, and would love to give you one if you come by.

Also, you've recorded some of my (and other's) radio shows at our sister theme camp, Radio Electra, so we'd love to have you over for that again this year. I'll be doing the WaltSnipe Radio Hour every day from 3-4pm (featuring music from all over the world), and will also be doing my annual Wed. late night "Send Your Mind Over the Edge" show (11pm-3am). I'll also be doing Exodus Radio from 3-6pm on Sunday. We loved that we had shows on your website last year, and hope we get to do that again for '07.

Thank you for all the work you do to bring your great gift to the BM community.

Trilo - thanks for the heads-up. I've added those sets to the site.

Walt - Gary has already contacted me regarding the radio recordings again this year, so we should be all set by the time we all get out there. We'll plan on stopping by on Tuesday night, so I should see you then!

DJBiggaman - my biggest challenges are communication and recording setup. I'd LOVE help with just getting the word out to any camps with music - I always try to find out if they have recording capabilities, and would like to have any of those recordings on the site. THEN it's just a matter of exchanging info so we can close the loop off-playa. If they don't have recording capability and would like to, then the challenge is finding the person who can help me to hook up a minidisc recorder to their board (or figure out plan B if plugging into the board doesn't work), showing them how to run the recorder, and working out a time to GET THE RECORDER BACK! So if you are able and willing to help with any of that, please get in touch via reply on here, or via email - or find me at the Deep End - and let's do this together!!

I'll be bringing a marantz professional digital recorder CDR310. I can burn CD's right there on the spot; and make copy's. I'm camping with the Pyronauts of Giza. 2:30 and Esplanade. I'll be mostly recording there but I'll make the occasional playa recording with a shotgun mic. If I'm able to record at other camps I will. I just need to find out when a good preformer(s) playing... You know....the one not to be missed.

What can I do to help out?

I will be performing with a group on the Playa this year called, Peachcake. We are a LIVE Electronica/Dance-Rock group and it would be awesome to link up with you or work something out. Thank you for this incredible service and abundance of help you're providing.

Hope all is well!

In the meantime, check us out: http://www.myspace.com/Peachcake

We'll be performing Wed. the 29th and Fri. the 31st on the Shiva Vista Stage near center camp @: Sunset (approx. 5:30ish).

Thanks and can't wait to dance alongside you!

The other radio station?

Post by ecomain » Tue Sep 04, 2007 8:52 pm

The burning man site doesn't seem to recognize the other radio station that played some excellent music. What was it, what's the story behind it, and how can we get some of the playlists.

Actually, this is also a shout out to anyone with good links or suggestions to a lot of that sexy techno with female voices doing sexy things. I can think of nothing better to chill to between the camp parties!

Miss them and want to hear them again!
