Been There, Burned That... IN SPACE!

Every virgin should be up front in the massive crowd for the awe and spectacle that is the Burning of The Man. After doing that a couple of times, I dragged a virgin up there just to watch them enjoy it. Now I just want to sit at my camp with friends new and old and wait for the news that indeed, The Man has Burned so we can raise a glass in zero G of vodka and Tang and continue our space sloth.

Here's an event posted to the playa calendar What-Where-When guide that I hope you'll consider:

Description: Already seen The Man burn in previous incarnations? No interest in watching it again from the crowd? Drag your jaded veteran carcass up to our space station and look down your playa-caked nose at all the hu-mans as we plot their doom for next year. A positive event where whiners will be ejected through the air lock. Bring your oven mitt for research and testing... IN SPACE!

Sure, they're welcome. I've just never met one that had no interest in seeing The Man burn at their first Burning Man!

Yeah... everybody should see the man burn their first year. Everyone should take a newbie to see the man burn. Both good things to be a part of. Now I'm sort of liking the idea of just letting the crowd do their thing while I sit back and enjoy a drink.

Last year I enjoyed the burn from Hushville, where I elected myself Neighborhood Watch Commander and walked around shouting "The Man's half-burned, and All's Well!" and so forth. Thought I'd stumbled across an attempted burglary, but it was just some noisy "private celebration". The year before, I went most of the way out to the Man and watched with a newbie friend and shared her enthusiasm...And remembered some VERY goofy pictures of me watching my first burn all wide-eyed and grinny.
This year I'm looking forward to seeing it .....FROM SPACE!!! Does TANG go with PBR? Hmmmm....

I suspect that I'll be up close and personal with the burn this year because I'm taking my girl out and this is her first burn, otherwise I'd be happy to be IN SPACE with the rest of you.

TANG and PBR might just work. Maybe you should include some Kool-Aid pickles with that.

I always thought it looked like she was sitting in a port hole of some artsy, well outfitted vessel....IN SPACE!!!

You should have that "hay wagon" of yours out for a photo op by the man .. Maybe just before dark.. Then come in and drink w/the spineless one..
