I often heard the sorrel nag (who always loved me) crying out, ..."Take care of thyself, gentle Yahoo."
i thank you, foamy.
the red ones look "just right", as goldie-locks would say.
i'll buy a bag & see!
geez, i suppose "a guy" could google....
still looking for more green & blue & yellow/deep gold transparent (not iridescent). i will also be looking for more red in case these do not match diameters needed.
diameter will matter only in groups of three though there will be three colors in any group of three (insert Monty Python bit here.. "not four, being the number under five and following three...").
i do need marbles though. i've got raheers'. they were in the punch bowl. when he bent over, falling through windings of his turban. maintenance, raheer!
everyone thinks "oh, i'll tighten my turban later...." but no one wants to look for fallen marbles.

for an answer like that I might be willing to google for you or get all googly eyed even.
And you're welcome of course.
Are you making marble mosaics? I know it's none of my business. Just curious.

stoned
hey! no peeking!
(saw drill rasp sand drop drop drop goink shalupe)
thanks for asking!
The marbles will be inserted in sets of three inside a hole drilled lengthwise down a wooden stick then sealed with the continued stick. three long grooves (three marbles tall) made into the drilled inner chamber (before the marbles are dropped) run through from the outside of the stick to expose the marbles within. they roll inside the stick & you can see them through the "cage" of three grooved lets in the stick.
I did it once before on the handle of a staff for the woman whom made my bunny costume, though i am not sure if that is how these will be used... in walking sticks or as ornamentation to SOMETHING BIG (the stick could be made as long as i like with multiple rolling sets of marbles).. just know i need marbles, quick, dammit. more! i need more! Oh, and some solid black ones for eyeballs for animals. Those i know will be eyeballs.
"Eyeballs for Animals" pledge-drive week continues.
As a hunter-gatherer, i'dve been thrown out of the cave. "Hey! nipples!" What are we collecting rocks for, again?" "You don't KNOW?!" (pelt pelt pelt)

Oh you!
That seems opulent beyond my wildest dreams,
to have marbles made. I've found some red ones
at the site given by Foaming-at-the-Mouth and blue, green & gold/yellow (by Googling™) at:
megaglass(dotcom)
....which may work. Seems they would be the 5/8" diameter. Mine at home look slightly larger at 11/32nds", but are sort of old. Ive also got two at 1/2" that are old and transparent (green & red).
At that/those site/s (which have some pretty stuff) I'd noticed the shooters at 1".. which maybe will come in handy, too. Yes, i am going to buy shooters, too. DAMN DAMN DAMN there goes the non-existant budget! There are some seriously nice marbles there. Swirly stuff, mainly. I am drawn to the "Twister"! ahhhh! Ranging from 1/2" to 2" diameter. But I digress!
If you are serious, Enthropic, about the hand-made marbles, and they would not be too expensive I would appreciate something from "Your Hearth to Mine"....(pillsbury™ bastardization) emerald green cobalt blue ruby red... any deepness of pigment so long as light can pass through (to thee eye!) at somewhat the same candle-power side by side (red blue green). Mostly in the 5/8" range, but any size is fine so long as there are also two others at that size of the other colors. Actually, before i'd ask you to have something blown, I will want to know how they will be used so i am sure of the size. That is a lot of trouble, to blow glass... no?!
Anyways, I really should have Googled before asking.. except that I would (still) prefer something from a person to use. like your blown glass! or out of someones top drawer! plus, i have no idea if the commercially available ones are as deep of color or a romantic shade. hard to explain. like the robe/bedsheet/panties of a king? i'll order some & see.
meanwhile, this is a marble thread.

Helped a friend of mine in Oakland once tear up a backyard patio slab and discovered that all 200 sq ft of it was site-mixed using marbles instead of gravel. Every cubic inch had one or two green marbles. Odd thing was: no effort made as w/ "exposed aggregate" to feature the marbles in any way. He eventually found out the prev owner worked in a marble factory and took home literally a ton of rejects. It wasn't that the guy didn't know how to seed, tamp & brush an exposed-ag slab: he actually wanted to hide the marbles.
Didn't matter either way to me: still got mileage w/ geologist friends asking them to ID a hand-sample of the stuff.
