Game rules:
Many of these rules will be fairly subjective in the best of circumstances. Life (or death) on the playa is a whole nother story. I encourage you all to use your best judgement, and play as gentlemen. Killers and assassins, but still gentlemen. Even if you are a lady. If there is some sort of dispute, let me know and i'll try to figger out a solution. It may come down to a duel, who knows.
Non-players and witnesses:
Non-players shall not be shot, poisoned, spindled, mutilated or otherwise included in the game. The idea is to kill your mark(s) using stealth. The public at large should know nothing about this. So, the fewer witnesses to a kill the better. For purposes of adjucation, a "witness" is a non-player within 50 feet of the kill. No more than 3 witnesses to a kill will be allowed. If you're not paranoid walking down the street, you're not playing correctly.
Non-players shall not be used as agents for your nefarious deeds. No hiring lookouts, bodyguards, or using the masses as human shields. That's not cricket.
Off limit areas:
The Havana Room, and anywhere within 50 yards of it.
Your "residence". This means where you actually sleep. No entering this area without an invitation from the occupant. No firing into or out from this area.
Your "place of work". This is optional, but if you decide to list such a place where you will be busy with official duties, that place, or event, is off limits. E.g. During your lamp lighting duties, you are safe. Each player will be allowed one such area, to be listed on your profile. (Kill ticket)
Game time limits:
The game will start at high noon on Tuesday, at the Havana Room. I will be there to take photos and make your dossiers. At 1 pm I will start handing out your assignments. These will be essentially random. There will be a 1 hour grace period after I start handing out these assignments to leave the area. At 2 pm, open season on your mark. Go Kill.
The game will run until the following occur:
There is one player left.
Saturday at dawn.
For game purposes, and the players' enjoyment, you should check in at the Havana Room safe haven whenever you can if you have either killed or been killed. I will make these appearances worth your while, as they might also be dangerous for you. But without this mechanism, how will I know when the game has ended? Report your kills, and get a prize!
There will be a Killer awards ceremony at the Havana Room on Saturday, time TBA.
If, however, all players but one are disposed of earlier than Saturday at dawn, we may start again, depending on time constraints. Pretty much at my discretion.
The Havana Room, or Home Base:
There will be some sort of bulletin board here, listing who is playing, who has died (possibly with gruesome details), and any other notices you as killers might want to post. Anyone can post whatever they want, but only I can remove notices.
The winner:
All killing stops when the sun peeks over the hills on saturday morning. The player with the most kills racked up to that point will be the winner. All hail the most vicious, devious, or just plain lucky person!
The scenario:
Round robin killin. When the game starts, you will have your photo taken by me. The polaroid will list your playa name and where you are camped, along with any off-limits area for you (see above)
You will receive the dossier of your target at this time. Go find and kill. When you kill your designated mark, collect his or her next target's picture, and continue your rampage.
When you kill your mark, you have the option of trading carried weapon with that (now dead) person. Thus, if you are stalking a mark with a very impressive weapon, you can take it and leave them yours if you kill them.
Allowed weapons:
Any water gun which is brightly colored and clearly not a real weapon. This can be anything from a tiny easily-concealed cheapie to a huge-ass super-soaker type auto cannon. Your choice. There will be a stock of weapons available to players at the Havana Room.
No other ranged or melee weapons allowed. No dart guns, disc guns, bbs, air rifles, etc. Nothing but water. No "knives" or other hand to hand sort of things, even just simulated. Just water guns. Bright plastic water guns.
Unorthodox weapons, traps and sundry etc welcomed! If you can manage to rig a pillow to fall on your target, and mark it as "A 16 ton weight", fantastic! Poison their drink by attaching a note on the underside where it will be visible when the drink is gone saying "Poison", well bowled indeed. Use your imagination, but don't do things to piss off the non-players. If you accidentally "poison" or otherwise kill a non-player, you are dead.
More coming... Comments welcome!
